Ive got to admit, if i was a fan of a decent team, I wouldnt be exactly thrilled with the prospect of our players having a morale crushing outing with england.

I dunno. Admittedly its mostly highlights, but he seems to have a decent touch and excellent positional sense.

Certainly hes looking like the player united with wellshit was.
I'm not saying he actually has bad control, it's that he seems to expend loads of energy and effort dancing around for no real reason. It's weird. He always seems super excited with the ball but it would be exactly the same outcome without all the furtive movements.

You are a factory of sadness.

An Arsenal fan elsewhere was suggesting that we should get shot of Gibbs because he's not in the England team. Good fucking job if you ask me.

Funny, where i work there are 5 levels of end of year performance review

    1) Significantly Exceeded Expectations
    2) Exceeded Expectations
    3) Achieved Expectations
    4) Did not meet Expectations
    5) Numpty

So if, say a manager (not naming any names) gets a 3 every year, does that make them a good manager? You don't get promoted in my company if all you get is a 3.

    I always get 3 :-)

Ah, but they remain a 'good' manager and keep all their promotions if they did very well 9 or 10 years ago..

And to be fair Sturridge, he was scoring for fun earlier in the season, when Suarez was injured. So I don't think it's Suarez making him look good.

Stirling is supporting the front two quite well, isn't he? I can't pretend to know team structure well, but I'd have thought Liverpool have the closest thing to a structure on which an England team could be built.

Stirling's temper tantrum when Suarez didn't square the ball to him for the 6th on Saturday was great.

RVPs flappy hands run doesn't suit him at all.

Young's spastic run doesn't do him any favours either in the popularity contest.

    Come and get it cumslingers!

Suarez was well out of order to be fair. As a striker, on a hat trick, and one on one with a goalie who had already let in 5 goals, Suarez was expected to square the ball.

Marriner's punishment for sending off the wrong player is... nothing

He will take charge of Southampton's home game with Newcastle on Saturday.

All four officials who were involved at Stamford Bridge will be involved in matches this coming weekend.

Refereeing officials felt that Marriner should be given the chance to get over his mistake immediately, rather than standing him down for the weekend.

After the game, referees' body the Professional Game Match Officials Limited said: "Incidents of mistaken identity are very rare and are often the result of a number of different technical factors.

"While this was a difficult decision, Andre is disappointed that he failed to identify the correct player.

"He expressed his disappointment to Arsenal when he was made aware of the issue."

    That's alright then.

Its such weaselly language and completely unnecessary.

'disappointed' is the new 'I regret offence has been taken over my remarks'.

Can't this be put down to 'shit happens'. It was a one off mistake, we all have bad days.

Act like a dumbshit and they will treat you as an equal

While I would usually agree with that, I think he should be persecuted purely on the strength of that statement and the sentiments of 'disappointment' he sent to arsenal after the game.

I honestly don't know how he made that mistake. It's not as if both Ox and Gibbs got up from the floor right next each other, in a crowded penalty box. He had a perfectly good view and Gibbs was clearly standing away from the goal.

Yes, it's true that sort of mistake can happen to anybody, but the manner in which it happened suggests that he's really not fit to referee at the top level. Apparently it's the second major mistake he's made this season (not sure what the first one was), he's just lucky it didn't affect the result.

How can a set of fans become so unbearable in such little time? I'm also disappointed not to have seen any misleading infographics yet today showing why Suarez is probably a direct descendant of Moses and Sturridge is just 2 seasons away from curing AIDS.

Warrior have given us some exceptionally beautiful kits for next season.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2587869/Stoke-unveil-new-Warrior-kits-2014-15-season.html

They must be saving the one with dragons, tits and tribal patterns as the 3rd kit.

The penalty awarded late into stoppage time in the Chelsea vs West Brom match.

It was such a big thing at the time that Mike Riley actually apologised for it.

@arials101 I just copied the two people above. Still, we have a defender who plays at Villa called Cirian, is it Clark or Clarke? Even Villa fans get it wrong all the time.

He sent of Danny Rose in the Spurs City game, which was completely rescinded (effectively acknowledging that the penalty was also falsely awarded).

Gibbs red rescinded, and no red for Ox.

The reason will be that the ball was actually going wide and therefore no goal-scoring opportunity was prevented. This is yet another example of the attempts to make football consistent, turning the rules into a nonsense.

A red card should be for poor sporting behaviour. That a player can put in a perfectly honest tackle, but be sent off for simply timing it poorly, yet Ox doesn't get a red for fully intending to prevent a goal with his hand is astonishing. They have to look at these rules and bring context and referee discretion back into play.

To me he seems to run like an over-excited child. Might explain why he falls on the floor and has a tantrum so often.

I think it's the PC way of saying 'You can't blame him, they do all look the same.'

    Yeah, it's a joke.

Part of me wants to blame big club bias and all that.
