Well, Villa are looking very dangerous in attack, okay, it's Rotherham but there's some real dynamism that might catch a few teams out this season. Also, Rotherham's style is quite easy on the eye, lots of good wing play, might do well this year in League 1.

I'm assuming this is not a good antidote to the Bale chat ;-)

You are a factory of sadness.

I'll ask again, with bemusement: has someone at Tottenham taken speed and is trying to by every hot young player in Europe? I can't recall any team being so relentlessly linked to every player ever! It astonishes my simple mind that nobody else is in on their deals. Except Chelsea obv, lolz.

Oh it's not remotely that simple: there's also intangibles like a sense of momentum and players feeling like they're joining a project and of having a good chance of other great players joining them.
Imagine you're a rising star footballer - if Arsenal and Spurs make the same offer, where do you go?

And there's only one way out for Ars่ne and Arsenal. The Ramseys, Walcotts, Wisheres, Gibbses, and so on have got to deliver and become the stars of tomorrow. We live and die by their successes and failures. No pressure.

@LeD But if any of those players really moves up a level the way Fabregas/RVP and countless others did they will be off and you'll be back to square one - I think a stubborn part of Wenger just won't accept footballers will always move somewhere offering them more money and a real chance of silverware. The only way to make Arsenal a serious contender is to buy talent NOW to compliment what they already have.

@alexm I agree, but we're stuck in that rut now...

@LeD 40m bid for Draxler would make a lot more sense than that Suarez bid...

Appointing Baldini has helped Spurs a lot, much quicker and more efficient in the market now.

    3-0 motherfuckers.

Nothing to do with the EPL, just a rather exciting end to the Bhoys' match tonight.

Atletico Madrid signed Demichelis on a free a few weeks ago. City have just signed him for €5m. Great business.

Unbelievable. I thought they'd arsed Europe up at the first hurdle.

Didn't realise players were even allowed to move twice within the same window.

Err... it's not deadline day and there's no way Eriksen will go for €11m.

Chelsea and Spurs seem to have a bet on who can have the most attacking midfielders.
