Given that the game is Japanese, I think shooter actually means shmups rather than FPSs. Or am I being too logical?

To get uber games, you need to keep switching jobs. I normally go through everything, then end up on producer. You also want to keep spamming the $2,400 training, it'll eventually stop awarding you points, but sometimes it'll still give you a super increase.

I've mastered this game now. I realised you don't need a balanced team, I had stuck with a coder, Writer, Sound Enginer, Designer, etc. What you should really do is make everyone a hacker. Hacker is the final upgrade, you need to do all the other jobs to level 5, then hardware engineer to level 5, then you can get hacker. Hacker buffs every stat massively, and even moreso when you level it up.

I think my addition is finally coming to an end. I cracked my last personal goal which was getting a 40/40 game review.

All my peeps are hackers but they earn so much money I need to turnover a minimum of 4 games a year and clear $200,000K just to cover wages.

The lack of challenge has dented my enthusiasm, but for the last 2 weeks it has been all-consuming.

Really hoping for an upgrade or completely new game.

I had to check the game out after seeing this thread. Most unexpected addiction to a game ever! Planned on maybe 10 minutes, ended up playing hours.

Really? My wage bill is the same and my finances just keep going up. I now have over 3,000,000,000. If I keep playing, the number will keep climbing.

Tell me about it, Im actually afraid to go on the game at night now because I get 'Ill just build one more game' syndrome.

I love this game, but it appears I'm utterly shit at it. Never had more than a 30 score from the critics, and never won anything other than Graphics or Sound awards.

I wish it was all deeper, y'know? The game went on longer, you had more scope to personalise it. I agree with some of the points in the Edge review, but (perhaps because I'm shit at it and therefore find it more of a challenge) I still think it's a terrific little game. In fact, one of my games of the year.

At what point can you get a hardware engineer to be able to develop a console?

My first three combinations of game types didn't work (Noticably Shooter + History... it's Call of Duty FFS!).

Actually, you'll unlock "war" at some point. What you were trying to do, in the game's world, was probably some kind of Renaissance FPS. ;)

So far my historical shooter BlackOpsAdder is my highest selling game!

You have train up someone to max then job swap them to another, rinse and repeat, then eventually hardware engineer becomes an option.

I lurk. If I've spoken to you, I'm either impassioned, or drunk.

righto, not sure I'll bother with that. I'll just gently retire from game development with 150,000,000 in the bank and Roid Baseball2 as my top seller.

What are some of your amusing (at least to yourself) names for games?
All mine incorporate the word cunt, just to identify with the people.
    Ninja Cunt 1, 2, 3, Pro, Zero
    Baseball Cunt
    School Cunt
    Romantic Cunt

    Etc

My favourite is Online Sim "Wank in a Cup". Not mature or clever I know, but seeing messages telling me that "Wank in a Cup" has sold millions amuses me.

I did an RPG Dungeon game: "Fritzl". Was my biggest seller and I made sure "Fritzl 2" was my AAA title for my console when I launched it.

Why didnt somebody warn me about this game?

I decided to buy it (randomly) on Friday and, for the entire weekend, the 360 and PS3 didnt get a look in, probably for the first weekend in the last 5 years!
This is the most addictive game i've played in my life, and i've been gaming for a good 20 years now.

My advice : develop quality PC games!

On my first playthrough i saved up all my money (developing mainly GameKid games) to buy the license for the Playstatus 2 and pushed out a couple of low scoring games, making decent money but nothing major.

On my 2nd playthrough, i developed a PC game and put a lot of money into development, hiring the best story, graphics and sound people available. So, my finished game was :

    SlipStream (PC)
An aeroplane racer (!) with a final budget (including advertising) of approx. $6,000,000. The review scores were 9, 9, 8 and 9, the game entered the hall of fame and won Game of the Year!.

Final sales were ridiculous, somewhere around the $12,000,000 mark. I think its safe to say SlipStream 2 will be in development very soon.

This is the best iPhone game available and i'd recommend it to anyone who is even remotely interested in videogames.

    10/10

Ah didn't notice this thread before, been posting the Android Apps thread.
I've started a new company, Puff Magic, I've set out to beat my previous financial record of 2 trillion dollars in 20 years. I reckon I could double it this time. I'm on year 4 and have already made 300 million dollars, restarting always reminds me how much I hate the foramtive years of this game, the constant saving and reloading to get development points, good combinations, trophies etc as it's mostly random. Once you get a good team it doesn't really matter anyway.

Is there a guide somewhere to what the genres actually mean? I'm absolutely clueless as to the nature of most of them.

    "Mushroom"?!

Anyway, I've pretty much clocked this. Won the Grand Prize several times, got 40/40. Just need to make my own console, but I don't know if I can be bothered.
