Ok, so last night was the last episode until after Christmas :(

    Spoilers ahoy....

A weird episode, saw it was directed by Edward James Olmos who plays Commander Adama and it did feel like an actor's episode. Lots of overacting, a bit rushed and some jarring momements. Didn't like Tigh's wife at all, was hoping she'd get exposed as a cylon so I could see her get wasted.

Baltar was again my favourite part of the show, very funny and embarrassing moment when Starbuck walks in on him rogering Six. Very devious of him to make all the cylon detector tests green.....

Just stumbled across these reviews of a couple of episodes we've just seen at IGN.

Oh man. If this is the US's general perception of the series then my personal 'new favourite' sci-fi show is going down before it even gets properly started.

Damn you, you bloody tasteless Yanks!

"There's, like, too many words, man! And not enough fuckin' shooting!"

The guy writing these reviews is a 100% idiot.

The posters on the Sci-Fi message board are pretty much laughing at his "journalistic" abilities since he first started "reviewing" BSG.

NBC showing the miniseries is an indication of what they think of the show, it potentially could leap from Sci-Fi onto a main network which would almost guarantee its continuation.

I'm not a scifi fan and my wife really hates scifi but we have both thought BG was excellent. Well scripted, acted, space scenes are gorgeous as are the sets etc. I'll certainly be buying a DVD copy.

At least he's useful for one thing, season 1 has just been extended by six episodes. :-D

Well that's excellent news! It's been top-notch so far and I've found myself gagging for each new episode. Even the wife loves it!

Compare it to the utterly tedious yet somehow continuing Stargate SG-1 and the 'exactly the same but with slightly different characters' Stargate Atlantis and... well... there's just no comparison.

I thought the series was screwed after I saw ign's "reviews" but it appears thats Galactica is a success in the states too according to a story written today. Oddly though the sci fi channel hasn't commited itself to a new series yet. Sky damn well better!

I think we Europeans will have to keep this series going. Proabably for the best anyway.

    MCM

    Come and get it cumslingers!

Remember it's back tonight and from what I've heard of this episode it should be a bit more action packed than some prior episodes...

    Sky One 20:00 GMT.

I will remember to watch and record this. Got about 3 more to go after this before the end of the series.

Episode 10 : The Hand Of God

I would expect torrents available about 12 hours of it being shown.

Great stuff, superb episode and only a two parter left. :-(

Ah well I suppose the extra episodes that have been ordered will turn up towards the end of the run in the US, maybe we'll get them at the same time.

I did have some flashbacks to playing I-War when the freighter did its thing during the episode, I wonder if anyone is doing a BG mod for it? No need to change the freighters at all, they're identical. :-)

Great show tonight, they truely don't know what they've let themselves in for with the new VP! :-)

The reveal at the end has really shaken up the Caprica situation too.

One two parter left for now... :-(

Give it a few years and I could see James Callis making a very interesting Bond.

was a good episode. James Callis is doing a fantastic job with the character of Baltar. i love that he's not evil, just someone egotistical who made a horrendous mistake and is trapped in a vicious circle. fascinating to watch him and the way number 6 is teasing him and nudging him along.

    Frack me! What an episode!

So much in it, before the titles let alone during the show. Baltar really was hurt by what happened, pre-titles, which was a bit of a surprise. Caprica's Boomer must be a really lousy shot, probably just as well she flies a non-combat aircraft. Fantastic, I'm tempted to rewind my tape and watch it again.

One of the best "hours" of TV for donkey's years and next week can't come soon enough.

Pretty sure I heard somewhere that another 6 episodes have been commissioned for this first series to extend it - can't find a source though at the moment. Think it was on either Dark Horizons or AICN...

... but yeah; you know that next week is going to be some kind of cliffhanger.

surprise that it happened or that he seemed hurt? i'd assume it was the hurt bit, which doesn't entirely surprise me, but i'd put it down to his ego being hurt rather than him having any deep feelings there. he's the one who is carefree and tosses them aside afterwards, they should be thankful for getting attention from a wealthy famous supergenius. and now vice president too.

and yep, it's still all good, all the time. more is not an option, it is a neccessity. and maybe a decent game licence too :) hmmm, i wonder if zoic have any coders...

Nah I'd say it was more than his pride that was hurt, the shit Six was giving him over it and his reaction at the card table seemed to indicate to me he was a lot more emotionally involved than we've seen him with the bits of skirt he's been chasing in the past.

Was it the same dress Kara hurried away with that she was wearing in last weeks episode? It looked like it so the two episodes are pretty damn close together.

/taps fingers is it next week yet?

aye, i get your point. still reckon it could just be first for him though and it really threw him.

didn't pay much attention to the clothing to be honest (to busy hoping to see something, mmmm, katee) but if it was meant to be that close it would add to the reason the lee was so pissed off.

/taps fingers. must nearly be next week now.

/avoids spoilers 'cos he hasn't watched last night's episode yet

Here's some potentially good news that Tricky was talking about earlier. It's sounding promising...

Glad to see it's getting good reviews from the 'proper' US telly press rather than IGN's "if it has talking it's bad" sci-fi 'reviewer'.
