I'm convinced that the horrible slowdown was my main source of annoyance the first time around. As it is not present on the PC version, the experience is much better!

I spend about twenty minutes in Blighttown in total. Enter via the backdoor (matron!), light the bonfire and head to the boss. Maybe try for the firekeeper soul on the way out. Everything else down there can do one.

I like those fatties there. Nice mini bosses when you're low level.

Thinking about it I haven't been grinding but I have been learning slowly. Going dex based and rarely using the Drake Sword but instead the Balder Side Sword meant I've avoided being too overpowered.

Might go for a Str. Build next time.

Having heal early on does help you get further when you're exploring.

Capra Demon down, obviously lost those 7k souls but did well out of it... Picked up some free humanity on the final run.

Failed to get the tail though.

I have an understanding that somewhere close is an ember.

Obviously I want to go to plus ten with the BSS and shield. How should I find the materials? Can I just give it to the blacksmith at the parish... And should I be worrying about divinely upgrading a weapon?

Wtf is this? I started a new character and started to grind for some Titanite Shards in the Parish and now I've got five balder side swords. I've been using 10 humanity to get more items but this is absurd. I only needed one.

After that I decided to try to get a Murakumo and got one from the second Giant Skeleton...

dont quit bear just rethink your tactics maybe farm a couple of levels, what kind of poise are taking into that fight? if your not proficient with dodging poise can be vital! pyromancy also helps, just stick at it and you will defeat them.

ye killing them quickly is the key so you can fight them one on one, i know what you mean though especially on your own its difficult. did you summon witch beatrice for the moonlight butterfly fight? because if you did you can summon her for the four kings fight and shes quite handy with her sorcery!

Okay, so that's the ember upgraded ( though obviously no large titanite to take advantage of it yet), decided that the fire orb would make a nice addition to my arsenal also.

I guess after that I should further explore the depths.

I'm using the Divine Garygoyle's Halberd +5 which has served me well but maybe something faster albeit with far less damage is worth a try?

It's a matter of taking them down quickly, preferably while two-handing something. I wouldn't have kept the gargoyles halberd for as long as you have, but whatever works for you. There are videos of people taking them down naked with their bare hands, so yeah.

You need some heavy armour, grass shield to keep your endurance up, 2 hand something big with large amounts of damage and slug it out. Use estus between each king if doable

Or go the other way, lighter medium armour so you're nimble, grass shield on back or green herb...or both. Then 2 hand your best weapon. Learn their attacks and tells.

When looking for your most damaging weapon just look at the right hand damage stat as you flick through your weapons.

I used a lightning uchigatana first time, Then the lifehunter scythe for NG+, then a silver straight sword + 5 with fire for NG++.

It's worth remembering that right up next to them many of their sword attacks don't hit properly so do a fraction of their usual damage.

And if you're still struggling I'm happy to put a summons down. Despite all my efforts previously I've never actually managed to be summoned for that fight.

Does anyone travel the conventional way into Blightown anymore?

I always go via the Valley of the Drakes.

Its easier to get up and down, closer to the good loot.
I tried going the normal way (after the Depths) and it was really hard by comparisson and I got really lost.

Really enjoying my pure magic character. Its been really tough doing a mage character. I breezed through with my strength/faith build. Can't wait to finally use the Moonlight Greatsword.

Although I really wanna try the channelers trident. Does anyone know if its a good weapon?
