The biggest difficulty is between NG and NG+. If it's the same ratio as Demon's, then NG+ is 40% harder than NG. Whereas NG++ is 8% harder than NG+. Might not be the same ratio though, but I'd probably bet its similar.

    @Ashleyfiddes
I didn't know there were four Titanite Demons in Sen's, I only found the first two. I've put at least 200 hours into this game, I wonder what else I've missed?

They all hang around the oil pit at the bottom, should be easy to find.

Check out the '10 things you didn't know about Dark Souls' videos from Prepare to Cry. Amazing stuff.

    @LeoliansBro Cool, will do.

I got Dark Souls a couple of months ago in the Games on Demand sale (along with the DLC). Probably the best gamin decision I ever made. It's probably my all time favourite game. Also enjoying this thread.

I got lost in Blighttown again last night.

It's those damn ladders in clusters - there's one set near the dung giant in the grey tunnel and Power Within, there's another set half way up the waterwheel escape route. It doesn't matter which ladder I take I always end up at the first bonfire.

Also fell to my death in New Londo, wasting humanity like a complete pleb.

@LeoliansBro - You're not the only one - every fucking time I end up at that annoying slippery log trying to get either the red armour or power within, I take the wrong route. I don't know what it is about the place.

And the circle area just near it confuses me too

I'm seriously just contemplating skipping the Great Hollow, but it would feel like I didn't properly complete the game if I do. Ditto Painted World (although I love that part of the game so will probably do it next).

Speaking of the Painted World, today's Dark Soul Fact You Did Not Know (and this will show you how deep the rabbit hole goes).

The weird black feathered harpy things in the Painted World. We know two things about them - that they are associated with Velka, and that they are 'deluded'. We know one overriding thing about Velka - jet black hair. Now, there is a particular old phrasing of 'jet black hair' in Japanese, archaic and seldom used, which has another meaning: 'crow' or 'raven'.

So these women (they are women) are deluded in their understanding of this word and its two meanings, one of which has been associated with Velka. They believe they have ascended to godhood and are immortal and beautiful, but they have the wrong meaning of the phrase and have instead transformed themselves into monsters.

I've forgotten Velka's background. I'll have to read up on it again

I would have no problems skipping the Hollow (especially as I never even discovered it the first time I was playing), but Painted World is so lovely I wouldn't mind an entire game built there. :-)

I need to start playing again, if only to do the Artorias DLC. Without looking at any guides, will it just present itself as I'm playing, or do I have to do specific non-obvious things to get access to it?

It'll present itself, but you have to get the LV as it's triggered from meeting something inside the dukes archive. And after that you need to go somewhere else where you've been before to access it. And it's not that obvious if you ask me where you need to go.

I need to start playing again as well now I've finished the last of us.

Defeated Manus on my own. I almost cried. It's a good job i saved those tears...for Kalameet. He's just so incredibly powerful ive got my best clobber on and he still messes me up with his relentless attacks and of course the Calamity debuff.

I must defeat him, the only boss ive not Han'd in the whole game. :(

I've tried before in an NG+++ game after buying the DLC for the 360 but he's obviously even more insanely powerful.

    Current attempt:-
    Lvl 58
    Havel Chestplate
    Gold hemmed skirt & hood
    Stone giant gloves
    Black Knight Shield +5
    Black Knight Sword +5
    Ring of Steel Protection
    Havels ring.

Rolling is your friend against Kalameet! I found his attacks drain too much stamina to block consistently.

I usually pop a herb at the beginning of the battle. Thought it doesn't help when he's doing that much damage at an incredible rate.

I think i need a better weapon...one that does as much damage as the Black Knight Sword but faster with less stamina usage.

Gonna swap out the Gold hemmed bits because apparently his fire breath deals magic and physical damage not fire. What a dick!

I've seen a couple of those. Not sure if it was him or sansvie that showed that you can use WotG to 'bounce' the firey boulders that are thrown at you in Sens Fortress back at the giant.

Completely useless information, but I thought it was pretty cool watching someone blow up the giant with his own bombs.

Yeah, it must have been sansvie (seeing as he's deleted the majority of his DS videos now I can't find it any more).

It looked fun, the huge boulders just go bouncing off for miles. The difficulty is the timing and aiming where you want the bomb to bounce back to.
