Registered 7 years agoHow the hell did Albania manage to be 2 pot levels above Wales? The flippin' Faroe Islands are even seeded a group higher! I thought Wales were doing ok at the moment (relatively speaking).
Could have been worse for Scotland, could have been better, at least we avoided the big guns. -

Registered 5 years agoGroup winners go through and 8 best placed runners up goes into a playoff.
Scotland can do well against all of those teams at home but going away is a different story, every one of them. Should be a very competitive group.
Ireland can get through their group I think, or 2nd place.
England should cruise their group. -

Registered 10 years agoIreland are pretty fucked, the German games should be fun but it makes it the European qualifiers that much more tense, we have a chance at getting to the finals, and if we miss it we wont be in another big competition for another 6 years.
That draw just makes me hate Henry, Platini and Blatter even more. -

Still I'm no expert, there might not be /any/ young new talent lol. It will be interesting if he doesn't pick Rooney this time round, I want Crouch! He could have got all those headers Rooney missed.

Registered 3 years agoThe old guard have been too old for international tournaments for ages. Considering Rio's another two years away, I don't see how it's even much of a choice for Roy (assuming they get there, of course). -

Registered 10 years agoWell, they need a good start so I can understand still using the old guard but they don't get you anywhere in the long run which means they should have made more of an effort to build a new team through Euro qualifying and the finals. To be fair there isn't that many old guys.
I think that is least of England's worries, they are shite and don't have much of a squad, that strike force, good luck.

Registered 5 years agoLooking at their ages there are quite a few 30 year old squad players who never really got a good run in the team. They can go now.
The strikers aren't that bad imo. They are young, have a lot of pace and we could get a lot of goals on the break. They will probably fit in the team better then having Wayne Rooney trying to do more then is necessary or a big man giving away fouls every five minutes.

Registered 6 years agoThis Ireland team are pathetic, don't look like they have a clue what to do. Trappatoni may have got us into the euros but id rather we try to play proper football and not qualify than continue with this shite.
Who in gods green fuckery sets a team out to lump the ball against this kind of awful competition.
