    free tree

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Choose between a Rowan, Scots Pine or Silver Birch?

    Which is best?

Which one won't fill the entire garden?

    /doesn't know anything about trees.

    They blow in the wind.

Silver Birch is beautiful but may seed.

Scots Pine is well, a pine.

Rowan's are nice native trees that don't grown too big, and have berries that birds love and you can make booze from if you know how. They are also allegedly protective if you like folklore.

I'd get a Rowan - I can't get one though as our garden already has enough trees in it (silver birches)

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

    Rowan, sorted.

I have ordered one, coming in September apparently, this is going to be one of those things I'll forget about and look all confused when the postman hands me a box labelled "baby tree" on a September morning. Quite cool planting a tree. It will make up for the massive one our neighbour cut down, on our land, not their land.

Hijacking an old thread (something I enjoy doing)

    Applies to IT techies mainly

    Meraki (A Cisco company)

Meraki brings the benefits of the cloud to edge and branch networks, delivering easy-to-manage wireless, switching, and security solutions that enable customers to seize new business opportunities and reduce operational cost. Whether securing iPads in an enterprise or blanketing a campus with WiFi, Meraki networks simply work.

Meraki was built from the ground up for cloud networking. Meraki offers a complete cloud managed product family including wireless LAN, Ethernet switches, security appliances, and mobile device management, all built to simplify the challenges of modern, device and application-centric networks.
    - The blurb if you don't know em

They make pretty decent kit and it works really really well in certain areas.

Anyway, the networking dude at my company said he'd signed up to a Webinar and got one of their access points for free (Ł699 retail)

Right enough, I signed up to their webinar, watched it (was impressed) then gave their sales team a phone, handed over my VAT number (they tried punting the Meraki partner speech on me) and my access point arrived a week later!

    Pics because it did happen.
