Masters statement says TV viewer alerted them & they ruled drop was OK before Tiger ended round. Only after interview did they review it. @RobHodgetts 5 minutes ago
I think they're making this up as they go along...

Tim Clark really making a move today. Seems like there's a few pros and ex-pros annoyed by Tiger not disqualifying himself.

    From the RTE feed:

Nick Faldo's comments on Tiger Woods: "I think Tiger would gain massive brownie points if he stood up and said 'You are right, I have broken the rules, I'll see you next week.

"I think he got confused. His head was spinning, he was angry. He made a mistake, simple as that. He is judge and jury. He gained an advantage. He said so himself."
Former player Brandel Chamblee added: "This is a flagrant, obvious violation. If Tiger has read the rule it is incumbent on him to say he is in violation and disqualify himself. Anything else is unacceptable."

Former Ryder Cup captain Paul Azinger said Woods had been protected by rule 33: "Unless he wants to gut the rule, he should be abide by the rule."
    And a Poulter tweet:
Not commenting on the incident. The Game we play is played with #Honor #Respect #Dignity #Honesty & a Rule Book. The Rules are the Rules.

Feel a bit sorry for Tiger, I do believe it was a genuine mistake. Can't say I agree with the comments that "if it was anyone else, they would have been disqualified." If it was anyone else, nobody would even care. I think they need to establish the rules a little more, IMO once you hand your scorecard in, that should be the end of it. If it's not dealt with by the officials on the course, it shouldn't be brought back.

THe point is whether he knowingly carded an incorrect score. He must have known not taking a drop from the right place would incur a penalty and therefore he knowingly carded the wrong score

Obviously he didn't or wouldn't have said live on TV. He is not that stupid. He didn't say comment this wouldn't have happened

First he cheated on his missus and now he's cheating on Augusta. Sickening.

I don't think he deliberately carded an incorrect score. Why would he do that and then go on TV and admit it? It doesn't make sense, he made a mistake and is protected by the new ruling. Also his shot was passed by the officials on the course as being okay, it was only pulled back after someone watching on TV called in and complained about it. I think he's just got his options confused. Everyone hates Tiger so it's hard to get any impartial opinions on this. I think if it was Mickelson who made this mistake, he'd get a lot of sympathy.

You've gotta wonder what kind of fucking loser would not only notice such a difficult to spot error, but who would also actually call in about it.

Haha exactly. Also think because it was Tiger they actually made sure to call in. Why would he suddenly start cheating on golf course after all these years?

"Tiger, can you give us a summary of your last 24 hours?"

"Well, I played yesterday and I played today!"

Fair play to the cheating bugger :)

I think Snedeker will win this now. Very consistent. I'm a massive Tiger fan but he seem's to be letting a few little mistakes creep in that cost you massively around Augusta.

You're right - him and Tsuneyuki "Tommy" Nakajima according to this - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/golf/2445357/50-greatest-Masters-moments.html (don't know where Sky got their stat from)

    Here's Kevin's: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/golf/22147751

It's been like that nearly all week, frankly. Some hilarious golf, particularly today and yesterday.
