A general heads up thread for live space video feeds, rather than create a new one each time.

That 15th refers to the one from the 15th of April.

The one that ended up dumping 74 million dollars worth of space rocket into the Indian ocean.

Flying up from West Palm a week ago Saturday and we went right over the launch pads and assembly building. Took me a while to be sure from peering out my window but nothing else could be remotely as big as that building. The two giant tracks to the big splotches in the ground were another big clue with the super-long runway confirming what I was looking at.

    Total space nerdgasm.

Come back in 6 months time and you'll be right.

    Only 3 missions left.

We're currently in the position where each shuttle is getting its final flight.
This month is Discovery's curtain call, followed by Endeavour in April and Atlantis will be the final shuttle flight in June.

I'm glad this thing is finally launching; the customer who bought one of our products is finally going to be able to pick it up on his way home from seeing this. Poor cunt ordered it at the start of December :D

I wish I had more faith in my car to make it down to Florida. If I am lucky enough to win the lottery for a causeway viewing ticket I'll take my chances! Well, more likely I'll take a week's holiday, fly down to see my ma and drive her 2009 Honda up the road to see the launch.

    Two left, gotta do it!

    Missed it :(
I'm going to cry when the last one goes up.
The space shuttle has been part of my life as long as I can remember...from 1976 or so....

Actually if they can delay the last Atlantis launch by a couple of days, I might be in Florida then....fuck...that would be somewhat immense!

Glass bottles OK for you? I'll try and smuggle some square sausage in too....

I imagine it's going to be a bit busy, I wouldn't care if I was miles away.

    Time for some research.....

    Glass bottles or nothing!

Go to the Kennedy Site and register for official tickets. There are other less-official official tickets as well as tour companies that have official ticket allocations. The latter are probably snapped up by now, the former goes by lottery.

Failing prime viewing there's loads of places around the area. I don't think you need to get really close to get the thrill. Close enough to feel it would be nice. Frankly, if the weather is nice you can see it from the other side of the state.

There's a great iPhone app for ISS sightings (called ISS Visibility). Just stick your post code in, and it'll tell you when the ISS will be visible from your location in the next ten/twenty/thirty days. It gives you a sky/star map of where it'll be, and a ground map so you know roughly in which direction, it also tells you the magnitude, altitude, etc.

Unfortunately I haven't managed to see the space station yet because the last four times it's been over the sky has been completely clouded over to the point of not being able to see even a single star.
