Wii emulation definitely needs the controller. I had it sort-of mapped to the mouse with the joypad analogue controlling pitch and roll, but it was fiddly. Some games should be alright with mouse-only though (things like HOTD, Endless Ocean etc, that are basically just point and shoot).

Guess I'll be buying a bluetooth dongle tomorrow then.

Be careful which one you buy, needs to have the correct bluetooth stack to work.

This has run everything I've thrown at it so far. Considering the immense difficulties that still plague PS2 emulation (which has been in development for much much longer), I'm absolutely blown away by how good this emulator is.

What would be nice is if it could somehow link into the online services like Wii Shop, as then I could can the Wii entirely, but that's got practically zero chance of happening.

Sneaking into somewhat illegal territory here, so just a 'yes' or 'no' answer will do, no links wanted, but is Wiiware available to download at naughty sites? Have lots on the console itself, but wanted to swap it over to lovely hi-res niceness if possible.

    Awesomeness. Cheers.

Surprised your having so much joy with it, I'm getting for too many glitches and slowdown to replace my Wii.
  • Deleted user 2 March 2010 15:41:24
Maybe I've just been lucky. The sole glitch I've encountered has been Mario having no eyes in Mario Galaxy (and a couple of shader issues when using widescreen hacks, but that's naturally expected as it's just extending the geometry).

So far tried Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart GC and Wii, MGS: Twin Snakes, Paper Mario, Mario Galaxy, Mario Sunshine, Smash Bros Melee, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess GC and Wii, and Wii Sports. All working flawlessly with a wiimote over bluetooth.

Oh wait, yeah. The legs for avatars don't show in Wii Sports either.

Yeah, that's the sort of thing that pisses me off, and areas that run at 90%, drives me insane.

What build and spec are you using?
  • Deleted user 2 March 2010 16:36:54
Don't think the Miis have legs in Wii Sports, do that?

Similar to mine, except 64bit, I just don't feel it's perfect enough.

Not that I notice the speed issues, but the tradeoff to running it at 1080p is worth it to me. Still, diff'rent strokes an all dat.
  • Deleted user 2 March 2010 16:56:04
Ah, I need perfect everything until I consider it "perfect". SMS is unplayable on 4525 as you can't see most of the slime.

The visuals are the same, just in a higher resolution, therefore, framerate and non-glitchy wins everytime.

Just need to turn on EFB to System RAM in the GPU options.

Ah, didn't know that. Was using a newer build but they seem to have issues.

It's weird cause it actually looks slightly worse there than I remember it.
  • Deleted user 16 March 2010 18:33:51
New release seems much more stable, not seen many improvements though.
