Wouldn't Lex Luthor be a good fit since Nolan likes to make fairly simple social comments?
It would actually be fairly interesting as a couple of far right papers are using the villian in TDKR alongside a caption saying 'BATMAN PROVES WHY THE LEFT IS EVIL'

Lex might balance things out a bit.

Cavill looks like he's going to be an awesome Superman btw.

New trailer before The Hobbit. Doesn't say if it's in IMAX as well. Should be

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

I met Michael Shannon the other week. Seriously great actor, very intense socially. Seemed a nice guy though.

Couldn't give a flying fuck about imax, 3D or any other gimmick designed to con people into paying a fortune to go to the cinema.

I just want a good film please.

Star Trek and now Man of Steel before the Hobbit!

I think the trailers are going to be better than the actual film! :)

    Come and get it cumslingers!

Superman Returns had all the ingredients to be a classic. Routh was a good choice, Bryan Singer was the perfect director for it, they brought back John Williams' score, etc, etc.

I personally thought two things fucked it up : The writers and Kevin Spacey.

I honestly dont know what the writers were thinking :

    - "Ok, so we're going to pick up right where Superman II left off 26 years ago"

    - "Yes, everyone will remember Superman and Louis Lane boning and conceiving an illegitimate child, especially the age demographic we're going after who weren't even born in 1980"

    - "Brilliant!, also, lets turn Superman into a stalker and lets make Lex Luthors plan......quite, quite stupid"

    - "You sir, are a genius"

Fuck me. Also, i can understand casting Spacey. I was expecting some of his John Doe menace with a bit of a fun streak. All we got was pure ham.

Man of Steel will be much, MUCH better.

That's ridiculous. It's TDKR with handcuffs. Surely it's just a joke?

It looks a bit like this one. But certainly not the same. It's the font maybe at the bottom.

It's not the greatest poster is it? It's just a screengrab from the ComicCon trailer. Still, the new trailer will be here in less than 2 weeks, can't wait to see that shit. :)

There seems to be a new trailer.

Could do without the Gladiator music.

Now, I'm no Superman aficionado, but why is he so miserable? What has he got to feel miserable about? He's different? He's adopted? Fine. But he can FLY! And punch in mountains and stuff! He's stupidly handsome, he's smart, pretty much all hot women want to sleep with him. What the hell is his problem? Lighten up you miserable cunt!

Looks good. But needs John William's score. Theme from Krypton would have been perfect for that trailer. Then again it was used to perfection in the Supes Returns trailer.

Pretty cool. Still looks like a Terence Malick film.

At the very least it's not going to be another Green Lantern, so that's something.

Tiniest tiniest little hint of John Williams kind of at the end of the trailer as well. It's not THE THEME, but there was a little bit of a feel of it with those strings and that rhythm.

I like it a lot, it looks like it's been filmed beautifully and no slow-mo in sight.

On second viewing it looks as though Snyder may have made a modern classic.

    Were those aliens at 1:50?
  • Deleted user 11 December 2012 17:48:33
There's an alien constantly, technically. :D

The very first shot is of an alien.

There is something I can't stand about the look Snyder goes for. Over perfection, slow mo, camera angles. Feels so cold and uninteresting, like look at how good I am, you can totally feel me crouching at the scene or sitting for hours in front of computer screen perfecting the scene. Nothing matches, like a storyboard instead of a world.

We will see when the credits roll. He does have talent, just get the balance right.

    I asked specifically about 1:50!

Probably just some super-advanced, uber villain. I had to watch with no sound, for reference.

It's General Zod's ship presumably, and yes, he's an alien technically.
