Agree, their tablet beta is a big improvement over standard mobile browser - Chrome did something odd with the fonts with the recent update, not as clear?!

Don't bother - it's not very good, and progress is painfully slow if you don't pony up the cash.

Registered 9 years agoReal Racing 3 is surprisingly really good. Fantastic game in fact, especially for free. As per usual there are in game purchases, such as car packs etc, but no need if you're in for playing it to the max anyway. The time shifted multiplayer is a neat bonus, as everytime I race, I'm racing against real people and friends, even though they're not online. Makes it so much better when you're racing down to the last corner with your best mate 10-20 feet ahead of you. And, on my Note 2, they are simply the best graphics I've ever seen on a mobile game, and supposedly runs really well on low end phones too. And, taking a leaf from Final Freeway, the tilt controls actually feel as if they work, without sending you slamming into corner after corner. I'm pretty much addicted to this one at the moment.Never ever bloody anything ever....

Registered 6 years agoHas anyone tried "Hunters: Episode One"? It's on offer at the moment, 69p, debating trying it but not sure if the 24 hours to complete missions is inspired or will be annoying.

Registered 10 months agoAny good? Been tempted by that for a while. Got a good way through FF3 but my save file corrupted and I can't be arsed starting again yet. Feel the urge to play a JRPG. -

Registered 6 years agoTo be honest, I bought it because it said it was compatible with my old S5830 (Galaxy Ace), and I thought that a 0.99GB game wouldn't be installationable on a phone with a 768MB of internal storage (I'm awkward like that). But I was wrong - without any coercion or intervention, it simply downloaded itself to my SD card before installing a tiny little bit of itself into the main memory (must have been less than 20MB, as I only had 40MB free and the phone complains when there's less than 20 available).
Fine. But this shitty old phone can't run a decent-looking game, right? Wrong again. Admittedly I dived straight into the options and disabled the single graphical setting to 'off' (some sort of environment effect, snow or something), but the game is smooth and the graphics are all texturey and stuff. So it scales well on older, cheaper Android hardware. Looks like a decent DS game.
I'm only about 15 minutes in, though, and most of that was story. Seems to play fine, like a straightforward PS1-era J-RPG. It's reviewed pretty well on various sites, so I had it on my list to purchase after eventually getting a decent Android device anyway. -

Registered 11 months agoI bought it. Haven't played it yet, but it's been reviewed rather well. I hope it's a good game in its own right, though, not just in a "well, this is the best you can get on Android" sort of way.
What I'd really like on Android is Final Fantasy Tactics. -

Registered 8 years agoIf it's any consolation I hated it when I had it on iPhone.gif)
edit: perhaps 'hate' is a strong word but it's really nothing particularly special. It's 'adequate' for a mobile JRPG.

Have you got a gigabyte free? Google Play might also be set to only download larger files via wiffy, so make sure that's connected.Mola_Ram wrote:

Registered 8 years agoIt's working now... My wi-fi was being flaky so I'm guessing it was DRM. Annoying as it means I'll need to tether the tablet if I want to play away from home. -

Registered 11 years agoI loved Plants Vs Zombies on the PC - does the Android version do anything different?
Is there any game 'outside' the standard 'story mode'? -

The Android port is really cheap - there's nothing outside the story mode at all, if memory serves. It also had a bug for me where it would freeze/crash on about the fourth level and I couldn't proceed. I haven't played it in a couple of months though so that may have been fixed. But I would not recommend the game unless it's cheap. I seem to recall its usual pricing being something like £2.
