Super Hexagon is indeed amazing. It works fine on my Nexus 7 too, despite the warnings about input lag.

Ikaruga is available now too. Think I'll wait till I get a controller though. That game is hard enough as it is without adding shitty touch controls into the mix.

Just bought mini motor racing and its bloody good fun and it looks amazing. Reminds me of micro machines or super off road from the SNES.

    64p bargain
It is indeed fantastic! Took me a while to get used to the controls. I tried them all after a horrible first go on the default wheel, but then switched back and got used to it in a couple of goes. Now it feels natural!

Epic Citadel is available on Android now, it's pretty much the same as it's always been but still pretty nice to look at if a bit pointless.

    Portable view - Never forget.

finally caved and bought the android version of Lords of Midnight for my nexus yesterday. It's 2.99 which is obviously at the higher end for mobile games but after a quick 30 minutes play last night it was 2.99 well spent.

Hi folks. Anyone know of any decent space sims on android? Thinking something like homeworld, not a shmup.

Id pay good money for a homeworld collection on android.

A space RTS? I can't think of anything like that. As far as space sims go they're mostly closer to shooters. I'm a huge fan of Galaxy on Fire 2, which has an open galaxy to explore and you can be a trader instead of a fighter if you wish. It still expects you to do some blasting though, so probably not for you.

You can always check out Star Armada, that might be closer to what you fancy. I can't vouch for that one first hand though.

You get the whole core game for nowt. Took me about about 12 hours to finish it all properly (though I'd say 8-10 if you're not fussy about secrets items and systems). Then there's an optional Valkyrie expansion that follows on from the main plot and adds a few weapons, ships and new star systems which are nice but inessential.

There's also a Space Station you can earn in game that you can buy with real money. I think it's just those 2, and as I say neither are required.

Star Traders RPG might be the kind of thing you're after. It's more about trading and managing resources than anything else but I thought it was a top game and sunk many hours into it last year. I think it has a free trial.

I have now downloaded more strategy RPGs than I possibly have time to play.

I'm on Highborn Chapter 1 at the moment. I have... mixed feelings about it.

    Guns 4 Hire

Rebellion game that seems to be heavy on in game purchases but looks great on both my nexus 4 and 7. Quite enjoying it too.

^ What a shame that doesn't support Xperia Play's physical controller.
I believe playing an action RPG with virtual joystick must suck hard.

Anyone tried that "carbon" app for backing up/syncing save files across android devices?

Aww, I have it installed but don't want to try it until im on the WiFi at home. Looks like it could be lenghty enough a process and seems like you have to pay for a premium version of the app to get Google Drive support.

Although it doesn't require root, I've read you have to install some specific drivers on your PC(?) Could be a pain to work with for the average user....

I don't know if you're rooted, but if you are, it may be worth checking out gamekeyboard for your Xperia Play. It allows you to optimize non optimised games manually if that makes sense

Well to update anyone who may have been interested in that carbon backup app. I've used it this evening at home so thought I'd share my impressions:

If you are looking for something to sync across android device/the cloud, you'll have to buy the premium license. I've done as much and while its a bit more finnicky to setup than you'd like, once its all working it is pretty straightforward.

Tested with a few apps, mainly games, and it seems to work flawlessly.

Only downside is that it seems, and I could be wrong, that if the app has a lot of extraneous data it downloads outside of the play marketplace it takes quite a while to backup. For example anomaly took about 5 mins while angry birds syncs in seconds.

7x7 is a nice relaxed puzzler

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

    notes app

Never really used a notes app before or felt like I needed one but since I picked up a note 2 I started taking more notes and missed the feature when I got my nexus 4.

Found this app which syncs with the note in Google/gmail so is available wherever I sign in. I can passlock specific folders too which is probably par for the course with these things but its slick works great and best of all is free :-)
