I killed my first Shark by running into it on a jet ski.

Anyone had issues with infinite loading screen on PS3? Been fine since Friday, now... Just won't load
I just rebooted the ps3 and it worked.
So my two highlights from today were engaging in a firefight with a gunboat around one of the areas where the water is really shallow and there's lots of little islets. As they were passing by, I managed to land a lump of C4 on their deck, let them get a bit of distance and sank them.
Hilarity ensued after i cleared out a camp, and was going to see if i could reclaim the undetonated mines i had set down, only for a chicken to come running towards me which triggered the mines! So know we know why the chicken crossed the road - to blast me into kingdom come! (Sorry)

Registered 3 years agoAnybody tried the multiplayer?
I found it really difficult to get a game on Saturday night, but when I did I kind of enjoyed it (nice mayhem, bad hit detection, basically).
I wonder if the home-made maps will be as much fun as they were on Far Cry 2? (How much community will there will be, now there is so much more competition on the multiplayer front than there was 4 years ago?). Some of the FC2 home-made maps were brilliant.
Anyway, I have terrible taste in multiplayer games. I thought the Max Payne 3 multiplayer was good...
Also, those of you who don't notice he screen-tear and frame-rate issues are lucky so-and-sos. I thought I was going blind in my right eye after a two hour session last night! A fast drive through the forest makes me want to vomit...!
Still really like the game though. Each little hold-out shoot-out is like it's own little puzzle. I'd love to have a proper PC... -

And does the game drop you back on the island after the end, or does it just finish or give you a NG+ or something? Now with 80% more Cthulhu!

Registered 6 years agoHaven't had anywhere near the time on this as i'd like but had a great moment earlier.
Marked some targets outside a camp, took out a sniper with the bow, unleashed a tiger from its cage, jumped on a container while hell was breaking loose, then reinforcements arrived in a jeep. As the tiger went to greet them i lobbed a grenade on the bonnet wiping everthing out. Flag raised and a massive grin on my face.
Might just be my goty. -

Yep, I'm erring that way too for those same reasons.
Was just casually hangin' with my, um hang glider there and decided to see could i fall from a height and survive if i hit the water, and up pops a trophy for freefalling over 100m and living! The trophy i got for killing a target from over 70m with the bow was also a fun, random one to pop up.Girl, you thought he was a man, but he was a muffin.

I would say about half way through, yes it dumps you back on the island
I've just passed the halfway mark. So far, obscure 'comedy missions' like Cargo Drop, enema jokes, Portal references and the big shark-jumping moment I half expected. It really is all over the fucking shop.

I'd say he's nowhere near halfway either. But WTF is your problem? If you don't like the game fair enough, but you seem to be playing a lot of it to not like it. Surely you would've ditched it by now if it is keeping you awake at night like it seems to be doing. Try taking your rage out on a deer ffs.bbvDJC wrote:

I wish this had built in video capture like planetside 2 as some of the random situations that come about are fucking hysterical.
I took ages sneaking up on one small outpost in the dead of night. I took out the alarm and carefully marked everyone for a silent death. I started by unleashing a cage of dogs and then some lunatic out of nowhere starts chucking Molotovs around setting fucking everything on fire.
Palm trees, Huts and Cars were all burning, people running around screaming, pigs squealing and dogs mauling anything that moved and me in the middle laughing like a loon and wondering where my stealth bonus went.
Awesome game. -

Really, really enjoying it now. My favourite thing is unlocking the radio towers - using a hand glider to travel between them whenever possible. -

Registered 8 years agoAccidentally discovered that you can shoot molotov cocktails when they're in someone's hand. Highly recommend trying this, the results are entertaining.
With regards signature weapons, there is also a revolver you can get by spending those Uplay points. Extra mission is available too.
That's the one good thing I've found about Uplay - the ability to spend your achievement points on extras is pretty fucking great, and actually encourages you to get the achievements for more than just bragging rights.

I discovered a new pirate camp to liberate last night, quite close to the sea. I got a jet ski and took the long way around, deciding to approach the camp through the water.
I popped my head up through the water and spotted what looked like a red chemical tank - i thought that putting a couple of bullets into it would cause an explosion and panic the guards.
I was quite surprised that after putting one bullet into it, fire spewed out of it, causing the jetty and the surrounding area to burst into flames.
Two of the five guards were quite close to this and were immediately engulfed by flames, screaming as they slowly burned to death. One of the other guards shouted "fire!, fire!", which caused the other two to run outside the camp. Unfortunately for one of them, he ran right next to a nearby bush i was hiding in. Another guard dead.
I immediately picked off the other one with my silenced pistol, whilst the last remaining guard backed into the sea to get away from the flames. I sneakily made my way in his direction, only to notice when i got closer that he had waded too far into the water and was being eaten by a shark!.
Liberation done and everything that just happened was completely unscripted.
This will be, without a doubt, my GOTY for 2012."Look at banner Michael!"

Registered 7 years agoUnlocked the specialist sniper rifle last night. Jesus Christ, what a beast. Was taking out engine blocks with one round. The less said about what it does to pirates, the better..gif)
I bought the pistol and wish I hadnt but the shotgun is one of my new favourite toys.
Anyone else found a bear in a tree yet? I'm not sure if it intentionally climbed it or glitched up there..gif)

Spent most of yesterday with it, and while I'm still really enjoying it there are some terrible flaws. Biggest issue I have now is the repetition of tasks, it's lifted right from the original assasins creed. Unlock tower then do one of the three same activities over and over again.
I seemed to become a killing machine instantly, who can take numerous bullets, tiger bites and fire damage. However if I trip over a small rock and fall a few inches I'm met with immediate death.
In saying that the world is so great I can't wait I get back to it.
Oh yeah, the pre-order DLC was the most pointless shit I've ever played in a video game. -
