Well it can't be any worse the the first one.

I'll probably watch it for a giggle to see if they lower the bar anymore and to be honest the first was worth at least one watch for the eye candy if nothing else.

The bar is so low now I can't get disappointed with 2 and 3 (if 3 happens of course), hell after the initial disappointment even the first became quite a funny to watch for how bad it is. I saw it again a few months ago and was just laughing through most of it. without getting into again I really cannot see how anyone can say it was a good film with a straight face.

    @Furtive_Pygmy

Yeah, first time I was too angry at how bad it was but the repeat viewing it just made me laugh constantly.

I see no reason why a 77 year old man can't make a good science fiction film.

lol rewritten already. I refuse to watch this film unless it has at least two re-writes before filming starts, and three re-cuts before it hits the cinema.

It's common for screenplays to be rewritten - Hitchock did it all the time: Rebecca, Psycho, Alien 3...

Yay, internet shitstorm ahoy! (I liked the first one, try that on for size) :D

Doesn't seem like the sort of flick that warrants a sequel though. Ties into a well-known trilogy (yes, trilogy, THERE ARE ONLY THREE ALIEN FILMS, WORLD) and Prometheus' plot was rather definitive.

Definitive? It defined very little, and the ending was custom made to be wide open for a sequel.

Any Netflix library in the world for a couple of quid a month? Gimme!

Surely the real concern here is the Bladerunner film?

I liked the first one despite its shitness. So yeah I am looking forward to seeing this. It would help if it made more sense though. :)

    Come and get it cumslingers!

Wasn't there some kind of fan theory that they were both set in the same universe?

    Loved Prometheus!

Am considering upgrading my big screen to 3d just for it.

Not sure about a sequel to be honest but if its anything near the quality of the first I might give it a look.

I've just read this page with my mouth open - people liked the first film? People thought it was definitive? Holy shit. I mean, it was beautiful, but the plot, writing and acting were all absolute crap... I tried to like it. I really really tried but it was just so awful.

Especially as there's talk of casting Katy Perry in the role of Rachael.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

I watched it again after the week long aliens saga in the 100% thread and I do stand by the fact that its actually pretty good and is *easily* the third best alien movie.

Yeah, it got far more right than it got wrong, its just that what it got wrong was a really visible, easy target.

I love how Prometheus angers people so much. More so than a film like AVP or Resident Evil. In fact, if you say you liked AVP or Resident Evil you wouldn't hear much about it, but say you like Prometheus and it brings out the crazies. I've honestly never seen anything like it before.

Personally speaking, Prometheus is my favourite film in the series after Alien. That statement, which is true, will now result in people trying to convince me otherwise. That's fine - I'll never change my mind.

People who think Prometheus is the 'worst film evar!' clearly haven't seen enough truly bad films.

I thought that was Ridley's doing... he'd made mention of something prior to the release.
