I wasn't impressed by the article, but he sells it really well on screen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=8BBEXB1Wf9c

His delivery and style there really reminded me of John Stewart.

Obama was the guest on The Daily Show last night. Someone on reddit joked that one of the Daily Show writers pitched that to Obama's camp while he was there. Maybe.. :D

What was the Romney thing on HIGNFY? My parents said they apparently laid into him fiercely.
Not much really. Paul Merton had a rant about how Mitt is a stupid name, they loosely covered the debate despite none of them really knowing much about it and criticised Romney for his "binders of women" comment. Will Smith proudly announced he's got such a hard-on for Obama that he couldn't even watch the first debate because it'd be 'like watching your dad get beaten up' and then went on to say he hated Paul Ryan so much he'd 'break his foot before getting tired of kicking him in the balls.' Huh.

They cherry picked a single retarded comment from Twitter which complained about Candy Crowley being overweight and menopausal, seemingly for a joke about Jo Brand, who was presenting the show tonight. It was fine for a UK audience, but probably less funny if you've been following it closely.

Fuck that. Both countries have serious issues but Britain knows its faults.
  • Deleted user 20 October 2012 03:05:30
A few countries aren't happy that were not holding them up enough sure but were one of the most liked. I still don't understand why we pay all that money in? Would nations fall without us?
  • Deleted user 20 October 2012 03:17:47
That's the way I see it, we're outing money in and getting nothing back? Also. Fuck labour

Just a few minutes until the final debate.

Will it be a game changer?

    Probably not.

I don't think it by itself will decide anything, but I hope it can put a small hairline crack in Romney's campaign that will get pushed open before the voting happens.

Come on Obama, the world* is behind** you.

    *Pretty much
**Doesn't want that idiot Romney to win
  • Deleted user 23 October 2012 01:59:51
I do find it kinda funny that a lot of people aren't necessarily behind a candidate so much as vehemently opposed to one.

Well quite. Personally I agree with a number of things Obama says, but Romney is SO backwards as to be a dangerous person to take that kind of power.

I just want this to be over now. All this build up seems pointless given that the majority of people have surely already decided who they're going to vote for.
  • Deleted user 23 October 2012 02:09:51
Romney's uming and ahing quite a lot so far, quite different from his previous performances.
  • Deleted user 23 October 2012 02:12:40
Obama's really on the attack tonight.

I'm not watching, I'll have to catch up with it tomorrow. How's Romney doing? Because whenever I've seen him talk about foreign policy he's seemed totally out of his depth.

Turned off this debate already. US foreign policy has nothing to do with terrorists.

He's all over the place. One moment he said the US need to have a leading role in Syria, then afterwards said they shouldn't be involved militarily. Not quite sure how you can have a leading role in a warzone without military involvement.
