Gone for it today. Did a Mediterranean spiced lamb shank and cooking it on a bed of carrots, onions, potatoes and garlic. Seared the shank in flour before adding it, and deglazed the juices in some port and drizzled over the shank. Spiced everything else up with some Ras el hanout and slow cooking it for about 6 hours or so

Just ordered a chinese because of Duffman's talk of takeaway. Damn I'm so malleable.

    It's cold.
I'm going to roast some peppers, fry some shallots and sausages in tomato and have a nice cosy, pasta dish with some smoky scamorza and basil in there.

@crashVoodoo Oooooh crackling is so good. Even if I hated pork I would still cook it so I could get crackling.

Doing Christmas pie week. A kind of silly tradition we have: in the first week of December we have a week of chrimstas themed pies. Tonight's pie is the Chriscringle pie served with potato waffles and beans for them retro feels.

My niece's birthday, so off for her favorite meal at my sister's house. Spaghetti with meatballs, but no bolognaise or sauce for her, just the spaghetti and the meatballs. My sister provided tomato and garlic sauce and garlic bread, both premade. My stomach feels like Aleppo.

Hahaha, there's so much to process here I don't know where to start.

That's exactly what my gut said. I'm going to do something sinister in the toilet later.

And it was my niece's eighteenth birthday.

I thought she was eight by the sound of her dinner! Things are different down your end aren't they?

She eats Dreamies as well. I think there's something faulty in the food genes of the female sure if my family. My Dad and I are both pretty good cooks.

    What are dreamies?

I feel sorry for adults who have the palette of a five year old, they’re missing out on sooo much :(

She doesn't like potatoes in any form. My mother doesn't like chicken or pork in any form and cooks carrots (pre-cut batons from the shop) until they fall apart when you stick your fork into them.

The cats seem to be addicted to them so maybe we're missing out.
