Talking of, those Cock Au Van packets you somethimes get in summermarkets are fucking lush, if you follow the recipe. They often arent there though surprisingly.

Me and the wife are alone tonight and doing an anniversary three course candlelit dinner at home. We didn't find any of the idendical menus for places out appealing, got bored looking and decided smug chef would plan a meal for a bit later.

Tonight on Come Dine With Me I'm making:

Starter is prosciutto wrapped scallops in a lemon and parsley butter.

Main, seared duckbreast in peppercorn, sauté baby potatoes with garlic and parlsey, sauté savoy cabbage with chopped smoked streaky bacon served with a balsamic dressing.

Dessert is a french alomnd and apricot tart with vanilla ice cream (cheated I'm afraid, shop bought but a nice one and looks lovely!)

Bottle of bubbly and some wines to. Already laid the table complete with flower centrepiece roll on dinner time!

Bitch better score me high.

I'm attempting a sausage & bacon steamed pudding. Never attepted anything like this... I have a feeling I'll be ordering take away later or if it's too late enjoying the delights of beans on toast.

My steamed sausage & bacon suet pudding worked!!!! \0/ Victory \0/ Not only did it work it was fucking great! Now I'm absolutly stuffed but happy.

I was so convinced it wouldn't work. I haven't had a steamed savory pudding in so long. It's either make one or eat one of those grim cheap supermarket jobs. Love suet puddings. One of my fave school dinners back in the 80's was a tray of sort of beef casserole with a thick layer of suet pudding pastry on top of it.
