A mate and I have been addicted to playing thro' non-Flood levels on Halo 3 with the added "make it harder" skulls activated. And we got ace at it.

But now I'm looking for something new. It can be ps3 or 360, but I'm hoping for something that contains the same sort of free-form combat that you get in Halo 3. Has to be splitscreen as well.

Anyone got any recommendations? I've just ordered Left 4 Dead, but I'm not sure that offline is the best showcase for that game.

Cheers fella. I saw that cheap secondhand in Blockbusters, so I might pick it up.

Anyone tried CoD5 in co-op? It looked fun(ish) from the trailers.

S'alright. That was an easy one. You may want to try Terminator Salvation on rental at the end of the week (unless its released later, of course). Too short for a purchase but looks like a good weekends co oping.

    ALSO - Resident Evil 5.

    Army of Two?

If you can stand all the macho posturing, it's not a bad game. Worth a rental at least.

Thanks all - I think I'll dust of my rental card and check some of these out. Until ODST (or whatever it's called) arrives.

I had this aaaaaages ago, and I'm tempted to pick it up again. It must be dirt cheap nowadays.

It was going for below 10 not too long ago, but now it's out of stock from all the usual sites..

Well worth tracking down though. Great fun.

I think I need to get a copy of EDF, any other recommendations for cheap split screen co-op games for my wife and I to play?

    Recently played on co-op:

    Halo 3- great
Gears of War- not so great
    RE5- good fun

Borderlands is pretty good split screen with the wife. The Inventory is a bit of a pain though.

Doom scares my wife shitless for some reason, although she may prefer it on co-op. That was certainly the case with RE5.

I haven't played it but I presume Army of Two is splitscreen.
I also can't vouch for how good it is.

What are the graphics like on Gears of War split screen? Does it have borders like Halo 3? Is there loads of slowdown or anything?

Also, same question for Call of Duty WAW. (I dodn't even know you could play split screen campaign on that, thought it was just split screen deathmatch)

    Army of two.

It's a mindless big budget movie type of game, fun but instantly forgettable. It's also dirt cheap.

The rainbow six terrorist hunts are awesome in co-op. Especially if you are the last one left and there is just one sneaky terrorist left and everyone is watching you to see who will prevail. Sometimes you are the hero. Sometimes you take a full shotgun load to the head. very tense.

I'll probably be flogged for saying so, but Call of Duty: World at War had excellent split-screen co-op. Big battlefields a-plenty.
