Like all the stories about either turning it off or leaving it on standby

I just play it, then when I'm finished I throw the Vita away and get a new one. Thought everybody did this?!? ;)

No, but seriously, I'm a mixture, will leave it on standby for 2-3 days and battery hardly drops, if at all, then sometimes ill turn it off because I think it needs a break. It's a hard working old girl, and she gets some good usage

Just can't be bothered with Gravity Rush, I can't pinpoint it but I'm just not enjoying it. Got it for free though so can't complain!

    @mowgli

I felt the same but it really grew on me. Stick at it, once you get beyond the inital hand holding and your character is powered up a bit it's a blast.

I agree. Some of the deals over Christmas and since have seen the vita going for around 140. That's a great price for the kit. Remember the current rep is around 220 for the WiFi version. They'll probably take fifty pounds off that then the rest is down to retail competition.
Where was it for 140? I can see the offer in Germany posted on the last page, but nothing of that price in the UK I've seen, otherwise I'd have grabbed one for that price.

You're probably looking for a new one but if not I've got mine up in the for sale thread for 120 with a 16GB card.

That's a good price. I probably am looking for new as I'm weird in liking things pristine and warrantied etc. but that is a good price and tempting.

I had mad love for Gravity Rush mowgli, how much time have you put in? Took me an hour or two to click with it, but flicking the gravity about was a real joy once I got my head around it.

Yeah, I thought it was shit too. Hate having to tilt to aim.

Would pretending she was a man in drag help your situation?

I loved the setting, the main character and the art style, I was mildly intrigued by the story too, but I just found it incredibly repetitive and slightly dull. The mechanics are initially interesting but they just don't develop enough and almost every mission basically just involves killing mobs of enemies with a limited combat system then fighting a boss- and most of them were forgettable. Perhaps I would like it more if I enjoyed incredibly combat heavy games to begin with, but things like Torchlight and God of War bore me to tears (I know they're different genres but they're both incredibly combat heavy and this is too).

    What about genderless protagonists?

Can't say the gender bothers me, personally.

Ever since FemShep I have started to err towards female protagonists.

Snap. The general feel of it is a little off. Got through the first couple of chapters then deleted it

Toukiden demo is on the store. Not feeling it after a quick go. It seems to lack the satisfying impact of Mobster Hunter and the attack variety of Soul Sacrifice. Instead of using items, spells or in-level pickups, you can take a set of 4 boosters which you can use at will. The default loadout includes a life leech, a straight heal and an attack booster.

I'll give it a further try later on, but it hasn't really grabbed me. The insane way it deals with the confirm button (sometimes it's the hardware confirm button, which is X for me, sometimes it's hard coded as Circle) makes the whole thing feel a bit slapdash as well.

Hah, good spot! That I haven't corrected it should show how keen I am on it right now. Shame, as Kocmo have been getting a fair bit if my money of late, with some good ports. Maybe it'll be better once I try the other weapons.

What? Looks exactly the same as the PC version!

It really depends on what the controls feel like. It's difficult to explain why this game is so great without playing it, and you *need* some decent headphones for it.

I'll give a demo a go f'sure, but it sure as fuck looks twitchy! Don't think I've ever seen a video, just stills.

I can understand feeling like that if you haven't played it, but I love it. You have to try it for yourself. A demo would be nice actually.

It's all about timing: bursting in to a room at just the right moment and taking all the enemies down and/or disarming them before they've even noticed you're there. You will die a *lot* though!

Top marks to you for getting it to me quickly and in good nick. Nine hours until I'm home with wifi & the PS3 to transfer over though.

I feel like playing through Gravity Rush immediately, but I've a nostalgic hankering for a replay of MGS2. Having the Vita PS+ titles set aside until now has paid off.
