    Thanks for the time advice chaps. Mad really, having the option to update with the internet, provided you've set it up manually...

    So my vita has been delivered by amazon.it but its been sent with a 2 pin plug to charge it, would it be as simple as getting a European to uk adapter to charge it?
    Just get a cheap kettle plug and plug it into the power unit. Europe is all 240v so you don't need to adapt the supply, you could even just cut the plug off the cable and wire on a UK 3 pin.
    Figure 8 lead, not kettle lead :-)

    Heh, all IEC's were lumped under the term kettle plug when I was doing wiring about 10 years ago. Yeah, you'll need an IEC 60320 C7 ;)

    Got it working now, as soon as you wrote kettle lead I knew the one from my laptop power supply would fit it.

    Had a bit of a play round with it and first impressions are its a lovely bit of kit. Just updating the system now then I'm going to get PS+ and get some games downloaded :)

    The 20 minutes I had on mine seemed decent enough before the touchscreen went haywire. Google showed up one or two folks with the same problem and as far as I can tell its a replacement jobbie, Amazon were great though - must have been nearly 11pm when I called and they're sending a replacement out first class. Bloody hope it arrives tomorrow.

    just checked the psn store and found that Rayman origins has been bought on my account. I'm sure I haven't purchased it but did download the demo when the Vita launched. Can someone else check to see if Sony have made another cock up and gifted me the game or confirm that I'm senile

    Sounds like they have an authentication screen on the free wifi. Ask a member of staff.
    Well yeah I know they do as I had to login on my iPad. Problem is I can't get that login screen on my vita. Annoying... I need to update my smart as street smart challenges damn it!

    iPad and vita are my ultimate travel companions. /is happy tech lover

    @elstoof

    Fifa is ok but certainly not the best version available.
    Virtua Tennis 4 is also ok but felt entirely pointless. I would say it was the better game but only just. (However I spent much longer playing Fifa).

    To be perfectly honest I recommend keeping the cash for now and putting it towards something better.

    @PazJohnMitch

    Yeah I'm not sure how much mileage I'll ultimately get out of either but bear in mind I don't have a ps3 or Xbox and haven't played a fifa since 96 on the mega drive, and I love Virtua tennis at the arcade.

    @jellyBelly it was, but the physical copy is going for very little at some establishments if you wanted to save some money. I'm sure if you're patient it will eventually become part of PS+ though.

    I prefer having the cartridge wherever possible as it helps ease my space restrictions. The sooner some enterprising Chinaman perfects knock-off memory sticks for this thing the better.

    Why there's no vita version of ICO&SOTC is beyond me, I'd snap that up in a heartbeat.

    What's the deal with Remote Play generally? Are most things playable through it, or only a few? Any noticable slowdown or visual artifacts?

    Thinking of buying a PS3 purely for Remote Play as I hardly get any primetime dibs on the telly now. But still not clear on how it actually works.
