Six months 'gardening leave' is the standard in F1 I believe.

Hang on...so when the BBC only have the cash to buy 9 live races in the year, they choose to buy one of the few races that starts at 7am on a Sunday? Ok, then...
I assume it was a gamble based on the fact that at this time last year the championship battle was in full swing. Sadly it's all but over this year.

Are engineers generally 'employed' rather than 'engaged'? I'd guess the vast majority of them are, apart from the likes of Newey. If so it's just about giving notice and then biding by restrictive covenants, or 'gardening leave' for the muggles

I think the FIA need to pay newey to stop making cars, either that or anyone who employs him has to employ Gary Anderson as well

They need someone to get creative with the rules and ban him somehow

They need to drop the tyres. It's become Formula Tyres. They should go back to tyres that last the whole race, with an option to change tyres should it rain, or they puncture.

F1 races need to be won on the track, and less via pit-stop crew speed, tyre strategies.

    Bernie likes multiple pit stops.

Why not just make 3 stops as standard and make the tyres last as long as they want?

Bernie gets his pitstops. Drivers get good tyres and the teams will probably have a slightly easier time designing cars around working tyres and be on a more equal level.

Switching the tyres half way this season handed the title to Vettel (yes, he was the most likely to win WDC anyway but at least it might have been a bit more of a competition).

A real shame. Just another reminder that motorsport is still dangerous.

Sad news, clearly a quick and talented pedaller.

It's got to be horrible for the guy he was coaching.

Saw him in Rush only a few weeks ago. That Porsche looked like it disintegrated...

I doubt he even realised what he was doing. Chav.

    That aside...

    Social media

Fans, whether watching live or at home, will also be able to interact before, during and after the race through Formula E's social media channels. As well as following the official Championship channels, you can also check out what the teams and drivers have been saying or get involved with competitions and even vote for your favourite driver who will receive an extra 'Push-to-Pass' - meaning you could directly affect the outcome of the race!
    I think I feel a bit sick.

    That sounds utterly awful.

Here's an idea. Maybe if we completely ignore Formula E it will go away?

As an F1 fan I can't believe that I'm not sure I'd mind if they did cancel it. :o
The Indian GP has made such an impression upon me that last year until the race weekend started and I remembered, I was convinced that they'd not raced in India before

Ha, me too. Couldn't give two hoots if it was on or off.
Read today that Vettel has led every lap of every race since the first of the Indian GP, granted that's only 2 races, but still!

I have to say, when I really got into F1 2011 on 360 I thought India was a spectacular track to drive on.
