So only about 29.5 million short then

If Kamui doesn't make the cut next year but Max Chilton does then it's a sad time indeed.

Then again it's a world where Williams waste money on Susie Wolff and Caterham's thousand reserve drivers so go figure...

I want Kamui at Lotus with Kimi, and Jaime at Force India for another chance.

By the way you should all follow Taki Inoue on Twitter, he's fucking hilarious.

Yeah. Taki is ace. Seems to spend a good portion of his time pissed up making fun of himself. Top guy.

Was good last year. I'm guessing this'll probably be Schumi's last year this year.

    Vettel and Glock?

    Button and DiResta?

I was actually looking ofr a more complete driver line-up list but found this along the way- schumi says not last RoC, apparently:

"...my lucky number is actually number 7. So weíve got to do this and then the one after. That would be the ultimate.

"Obviously this means Iím not retiring from the Race Of Champions yet. I could have retired from it by the end of this year, but I donít want to. Itís too much fun. And as long as Iím still a bit competitive in it, why not?"

    Maldonado and Bottas confirmed.

This is good, the team turning away money (Senna) for speed.

No surprises there, Bottas seems to be very highly rated.

Noticed that the Maldonado and Senna finished down in 15th and 16th in the driver standings. Not great considering there car had genuine pace at quite a few venues this season. All if's and but's, but i'd have thought old Rubens would have scored loads more points than either of them.
  • Deleted user 28 November 2012 12:37:32
I guess Maldonado win saved him his seat. Senna finished more times in the points than Pastor did. Feel a bit sorry for him.

But the fact bottas came in and look very quick in testing and pratice sessions is encouraging for Williams.

Yeah. I heard/read somewhere that he was actually looking for an F1 drive for next year. Anyone heard more about that?

Just heard Ferrari are going to make an appeal over Vettel overtaking under yellows in Brazil. World Title could end up with Alonso yet. It'd be a sour, sour way to end a fantastic season for the WC to be decided off the track.

What's the worst they could really do though? I'd imagine a 30 second penalty in lieu of a drive through would be the absolute maximum, would that be enough for Alonso to take it?

Considering they finished under the safety car, any penalty would definitely knock Vettel down to at least 9th I'd have thought. Everyone after that finished a lap down.

Good point, totally forgot that it finished under caution.

I know Ferrari don't care about bad PR but this is low even for them.

Um, it didn't finish under caution. The safety car had left the track. The question that's stuck in my mind is why didn't anyone try to over take after that point - Alonso's quite good at that sort of thing.

Brundle tweeted earlier in the week that Vettel didn't overtake under yellows, rather it was a yellow/red combo which means "slippy".

Yellow flags were out when the safety car pulled in, I think.

If they appeal I suspect they'll do it in a half-hearted manner to make a point more than anything and maybe force a regulation change to prevent it happening again. Just a hunch. The general reaction I sense is that people think Vettel deserved to win the title, but also that Alonso didn't deserve to lose it.

You can't overtake until after the start/finish line anyway when the safety car pulls in. The race was effectively over when the SC pulled in.

So. Now that HRT are gone, and they were awful...

Were they the worst F1 team that ever was? No disrespect intended, I know that sounds paradoxial but goddamn....

Even Super Aguri showed more promise, and that's really fucking saying something. Absolutely dire no-mark team.

On performance I don't think HRT were too bad, and I mean that in terms of how fast they were relative to the leaders and the budget they had.

They were no Mastercard Lola but at least they had the decency to shitcan the season when it was known the car was worthless.

@AaronTurner Maybe my hate for Karthikeyan is so overwhelming that I downmarked the entire team. It's possible, what a shit racer.
