Sadly it's quite clear that Bernie couldn't care less about circuits giving good racing or not.

    Hermann Tilke's a gangster!

Tilke established Tilke Engineering in 1984, combining skills in architecture, civil engineering and electronic engineering to provide complete solutions for motor racing and waste disposal projects.
    A Hitman Architect racing driver...

There can't be any other reason why he would secure every F1 race track contract since what? 1999?

    He's Bernie's Luca Brasi.

on the plus side bernie ain't getting younger. He keel over sooner rather than later. Unless he invented some sort of futurama head thing where he can rule the world from his secret mountainside hideout... or something.

How do we know he hasn't already and that thing that's walking around is just a hologram of him, it seems like he's been in charge of F1 forever.

Sad that practically every motor sport doc has a thread of death running through it. Nature of the beast I guess

Yes, nothing celebratory about this doc, despite the clear attraction to the speed and difficulty which came over in the drivers' face to camera sections.

Frankly anazing that many more weren't killed, seeing those Argentinian/Portuguese replays again.

Went to arena raceway (Essex) yesterday. Haven't been for several years, and I forgot how enjoyable hangers and stock cars were to watch. Smells great too, all that burning oil, steam and rubbing wheels.

Yeah I've got a weekend ticket. I'd keep an eye on the weather, last year FP2 in particular was a wash out.

Woodcote B here. After getting rained on pretty heavily at Stowe around an hour before the race last year I decided to go for a stand with a roof.

one of the links has an audio link and it says she went into the loading lift at around 30 MPH.

Depends where the leading edge of the loading lift hit.

If her front wing hit the lift, then no worries. If it hit at head hight, then even with a helmet that's bad at 30mph.

    Guardian are reporting this:
"According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred after De Villota had pulled up in front of her mechanics after completing her first lap of the day. As the mechanics approached to wheel the car back for service, it accelerated forwards and crashed into the stationary vehicle parked nearby.

The front of the Marussia car was destroyed in the crash and De Villota's helmet was seen to impact with the side of the truck.

De Villota was reportedly motionless for around 15 minutes as paramedics attended to her but was seen to move her hands before being transported to hospital. De Villota, 32, is the daughter of the former F1 driver Emilio De Villota."

a few reports suggesting it was the anti stall.

Difficult to say what happened without seeing it but sounds like a jammed throttle or something? Nasty

Anti-stall makes sense, coming into the garage area still in gear. Drop below a certain number of RPM and anti-stall kicks the throttle up to 50%. Most drivers pull the clutch in or drop it into neutral before then but if this is your first time in an F1 car then...
