Okay, this movie is only coming out in 2010 but damn, the 10 year old inside of me is excited about this.

    Director:Sylvester Stallone

    Writer:Sylvester Stallone

    Cast (so far):
    Sylvester Stallone
    Jason Statham
    Jet Li
    Dolph Laundgreen
    Mickey Rourke
    Randy Couture
    Forest Whittaker (rumored)
    Ben Kingsley (rumored)

Shooting starts in Brazil on March.

Rumor is that the Dolph“s role was first offered to Van Damme but he rejected it.
Sly also said he would like to add Forest Whitaker to the cast.

This sounds like what Tarrentino had planned for 'Inglorious Bastards' once upon a time. Maybe Stallone decided to run with the idea of a retro meets current action stars?

Now he needs to get Arnie, Willis & Van Damme on board.

Needs Van Damme, definitely. But if he's already rejected it that sucks.

    Sounds awesome though, hehe.

Bit more info from a less CAPS LOCK orientated WEBSITE.

Why would he reject it? What's he got going on that's so goddamned important? ;)

EDIT: Other than Universal Soldiers: The Next Generation, that is. LOL.

You mean the Oscar nominated screenwriter Sylvester Stallone?
    Yes, he can write.
  • Deleted user 7 January 2009 16:47:24
Just cos the guy talks like he's got half a brain cell doesn't mean he has half a brain cell. :p He's a very canny, clever man. Which is why he's a rich, successful Hollywood star.

    This too. Plus Stone Cold.

Maybe even Seann Scott Williams or whatever he's called? Cameo role where he gets his head blown of whilst riding some 'ho'.

    Er.

Okay, one half-decent (if hugely overrated) film and 23 gigantic turds.

First Blood and Cliffhanger are damned classics!

    (if for very different reasons!)
  • Deleted user 7 January 2009 17:21:53
I actually had no idea he wrote Cliffhanger until I saw that link. Also a good film, if utterly ridiculous and predictable.

First Blood wasn't really 'his' though, as it's based on a book and other people had their hands on the script (including James Cameron although he's since disassociated himself from it as it was changed considerably, I think).

EDIT: Actually Cameron did the original script for the second one, not the first, my mistake. Stallone took it over and changed it considerably, though.
  • Deleted user 7 January 2009 17:23:38
That was Rambo II I think.

(the Cameron thing, not the book thing)

    Edit: \0/

You need Christopher Lambert and Rutger Hauer as well if we really are going for the complete B movie legends cast.
