Not at all. I kind of feel sorry for him in that situation. I hate it when people seem to think they have some claim on celebrities and think they have a relationship with them just because they've seen them on telly. It was more of a dig at the tourists as much as anything.
That's the racket he's in though. If he didn't want fame he could have stuck to small-town plays and had the acting without the success!

I've been thinking about giving this a re-watch but I keep dissuading myself because it's tediously slow in places and gruellingly horrific in others. However, no I know how every scenario turns out, I can concentrate on the subtler parts of the show that I would have undoubtedly missed the first time around. That fact also makes many shows and films seem much better and more enjoyable on subsequent viewings.

Anyone who's watched it again care to give a quick returning viewer review?

    @Dirtbox
I have watched it 3 times from start to finish in a year.
It is still sublime. I don'y care for WW in much of the last season however.

Does it improve over the original viewing on the second watch?

YES. Like most things, second time around you are more aware and invested so will pick up on things you missed the first time around.

I swore to quit watching it after several particularly horrific scenes, with the one I watched yesterday taking the cake. It's the one where the black guy slices the throat of one of his lieutenants in front if Walt and Jesse. But, unfortunately I can't stop as the show is so addictive. And there's always something new one is curious about how it will develop.
Edit: it's my first watch though. So far, I must say I liked the first season the best.

First time I've seen anyone put off the show because of the small amount of gore; it was the crushing, claustrophobic tension and soul destroying tragedy that made it hard for me to watch.

It's just I hate unnecessary violence, is all. IMHO it was there only to shock the viewer. Small amount of gore? Not in my book.
Not sure what you mean by soul destroying tragedy. WW's disease maybe?
There are episodes when it's like it didn't exist at all. One of the strongest emotional moments for me so far was when Walt left Jesse's girl to choke on her own vomit. He was there, bastard, could just do so little to save her. I was really hating him for that and thought I couldn't watch the show any longer with him being the 'good' guy. And yet...

Just watched the first episode of the first season. Quirky stuff. Late to the party I know.

I only just watched it a couple of months ago, so don't worry!

I always thought it sounded like absolute shite, the sort of thing that I would despise. I was very, very wrong. It grabbed me from the first scene to be honest and it ended up becoming one of my favourite programmes.

I'm re watching it at the moment, and what strikes me the second time is just how quickly Walt becomes a cunt, and how early he goes into remission. Maybe it's partially because I've watched it all so I'm ready for it, but I genuinely had compassion for him way longer than perhaps I should first time round.

Also considering a rewatch as I have to say I missed the characters since I finished watching the whole thing last year. Nothing's come close so far since (bar one or two exceptions perhaps), this series is as near to perfection as it gets.

Glad to hear it holds up well on repeated viewing.

Bought the BD box set other week, started watching it through again. Aside from all the usual plaudits about how great a show it is, I'd forgotten how spectacularly shot it was and the audio is amazing through my surround headphones.

Enjoying the commentaries that are on a few of the eps too, some interesting tidbits re: the shooting of it, as opposed to the worst commentaries in which everyone fellates each other. There's a little bit of that, but not to the point you want to puke.

Yeah, on the rewatch I'm on every single episode opening scene is beautifully shot and powerful. Which is amazing over five seasons.

Yeah, I'm paying a lot more attention to the extraneous details this time around. The volume of portents is staggering.

This is my third viewing, first was when they all aired upto season 508, second was a marathon in preparation for the final 8 eps.

Finished this recently, brilliant from start to end. The plots in each series are great and there's some really great characters throughout. Cranston and Paul were outstanding.

I love this about it as well, that and the bait and switch style of the portents too. I'm due to watch it again once I'm through my next binge watch of West Wing.

Yeah i noticed this aswell more 3rd time round. Although this is probably because i know quite how bad walt gets. On my first viewings walt had me all the way till he poisioned the kid after that i couldnt like him anymore.
