    Nice one DB, shame it doesn't work for Eurogamer though. It is however a useful tool for my ageing eyes.

    Hello again, chaps.

    I'm currently using a cheap wireless keyboard on the PC that is attached to my TV - this cheapo keyboard does not have a small LED light to signify if the Caps Lock button is on or off.

    I know that 'Caps Lock' is a bit passe, nowadays - but I have a few passwords with a large chunk of uppercase goodness. I'm constantly getting confused as to whether or not the caps lock button is on, which results in embarrassing 'your password is not recognised' screens. Shameful!

    Shirley there's a half-decent Chrome extension (although any type of 'app' outside of Chrome will do) which brings up an on-screen laptop/netbook-style caps lock icon?

    A caps lock light would sap the battery in seconds. Or not.

    @ Crispy - it's important! I've even had to resort to typing out a few letters in Google to work out if I've got the caps lock on or off.

    Thanks, Deebs - but unfortunately I've already tried that program, and it was pretty buggy. A shame, because it was great for the first few hours.

    Too late. It's a bad habit that has been going on since my 'electric type-writer days'.

    Even for a single capital letter my little finger snaps the caps lock button on and off in the blink of an eye.

    I always use the left shift key. I just realised on my keyboard the left one is tiny, caps lock is a much more prominent and bigger key. The right shift key however, is one of the biggest keys on the board... the only bigger keys are enter and space... I guess i'm supposed to use the right shift and not the left one.

    Edit: My keyboard is "Microsoft comfort curve 2000 V1" ... I notice in the newer V2 they have made the left shift key bigger, equal size to right side.

    What sort of madman uses the right Shift key? Mine is covered in dust and grime through neglect, as it should be.

    Left shift all the way here. Never got into the habit of using the one on the right.
    Did typewriters have one on either side? I'm looking at a picture of the big bastard I learned to type on and I think they did, but it's hard to tell...

    I use the right shift for that and ? and : etc, but I've only just noticed that I do. My hands don't tell me what they're up to =/ SHUT UP!

    Thought so!

    Took me a minute to realise how often I use it and it's just ingrained in my muscle memory. It's not like you can really miss a key that's nearly half the size of the space bar.

    Annoyingly I just realised that I don't use it for caps on that side of the keyboard. I'm going to have to do something about that now.

    Never understood the pimping for Dvorak. Most keyboards are QWERTY, having to re-learn touch-typing and adjust between the two constantly or carry a specialist keyboard everywhere all for the sake of a few nanoseconds between thought and action never made any sense to me.

    Pretty much the same here. Although I do use left for the number symbols. Even if it's that side.
