I experienced a reality glitch the other day. It was very foggy but the fog was wrong. Looking across some fields at a house I could see a really long way at the low level but the first story of the house was almost entirely invisible. It was like normal visibility up to 1 meter in height and almost none above that. Really weird as I have never seen fog so differentiated like that over such a small increment of distance.

Obviously whoever is pulling the lever's realised they had fucked up the fog that morning as it only lasted about 5 minutes and then they got it sorted so it touched the ground properly.

When I was a teenager me and a mate were gearing up for a party and were listening to some music (possibly Faith No More iirc) while we waited for a couple of other friends to turn up. We were having a banter and singing along to the music.

Eventually the first half stopped so I got up to turn the tape over; only there was no tape in.

It was just a tape player; and it was right next to us, so you can imagine how confused we were.

I'd been using a Kit Kat mug at work, similar to this, for a good few years. I liked it because it weighs an absolute ton, so it's tougher to spill/knock over - it's also easy to differentiate from the other 'characterless' mugs.

A few weeks ago a colleague asked if she could take the mug - apparently her husband used to manage a Kit Kat-producing Rowntree factory in Norwich - they've collected all things Kit Kat related ever since.

I was genuinely a little upset about the idea of being mug-less - we'd been through so much together. I thought about asking for money as a form of compensation - before doing the heroic thing and allowing her to take it away - for free.

I was off work the following day (it wasn't for shock/trauma). I left my flat with my bike and set off to my girlfriend's place.

Barely a few metres from my road and I spy something shiny and dirty (dirtily shiny) squashed into the grass outside a (very large) house. I cycle close to it - stare - get off my bike to walk up to it - and then pull it out of the ground.

    EXCALIBUR!

YES, it's a bloody Kit-Kat mug - albeit a very muddy one - but identical in every way to the one that I had so bravely donated THE DAY BEFORE!

Breathless, I look around to make sure that it's not a set-up (I have many enemies), before sheepishly cycling the short distance back to my place so that I can drop off my find.

The day after I ask my colleague if she'd chucked my mug out of her window when driving past my flat - but no - apparently it's sitting in a collection of another 30 or so Kit-Kat mugs at her place.

    My mind is still blown.

Why was this Kit Kat mug outside in the first place? Why so close to my place? Why the day AFTER I've given away MY beloved Kit Kat mug? How long had it been there?

Oh, and yes, I now use it at work - after cleaning it thoroughly.

Seems to me this woman threw away your kit kat mug. Possibly because she thinks you're a cunt. Of course she's going to deny it.

    @L0cky

Double tape player and you opened the empty one? You were listening to the radio and it ran outta batteries and you thought the tape had ended?

Manchester Museum wondered who kept turning one of their ancient Egyptian statues around so they set up a camera to watch it.

Turns out it's turning around by itself.

Looks like she hasn't posted since Thatcher died. Mabe her mission was complete?

Maybe she was Thatcher, and the press just really misrepresented her.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

This is pretty cool in an horrific way. Six bodies found at the bottom or a lake in two cars that have been there for over 40 years.

    http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/09/17/20547251-cold-wet-cases-oklahoma-troopers-stumble-on-six-bodies-in-two-cars-at-bottom-of-lake?lite

What is spooky is that someone looked on Google Earth and it appears both cars were visible as dark blobs only of course no-one knew what those dark blobs were. The blobs are pretty much dead centre on the below.

    https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Elk+City&hl=en&ll=35.536352,-99.191657&spn=0.002549,0.004801&sll=47.892647,-92.073205&sspn=0.008402,0.019205&oq=elk+city&t=h&hnear=Elk+City,+Beckham,+Oklahoma&z=18

They appear to have got there 10 years apart and there does not appear to be any roads near by so quite how they got there is going to take some explaining.

And another entry in the cars with bodies in lakes genre. This one not found for 75 years. Not as much mystery to this one though.
