But how can we go to Burger King when limitless wealth is LITERALLY just around the corner with the McDonalds Monopoly game?

LB, you really are a massive geek.

Because you can't get a Texican Whopper there, the Big Tasty is nice and everything but I have to say, not a patch on the Texican

Sorry, I know this has no place in a Burger Appreciation thread. I'll desist, after saying that Fuller's pub burgers are awesome and can often break your jaw due to their immense cross section :)

That's fine as long as you don't then eat a KFC bucket for dinner or something. All things in moderation :)

I think you must be in a minority then. I've never had a 'flame-grilled Whopper' that has actually come off a grill. It's always removed from a very microwave-like box.

They tend to grill them in the morning, and then microwave them warm again when needed. It takes longer to flame-grill than for the likes of Maccys to grill them "normally". So to keep up with demand they have to do it that way.

I only eat at one BK, and it's damned busy. But you can see the kitchen and they're flame grilling away.

Had a cheese & bacon burger at the pub on Wednesday while I watched the Champion's League. Spent the rest of the night chucking it back up. Didn't go to work on Thursday.

I'm off burgers for the foreseeable future.

On the appeciative side of things, its got to be a KFC Zinger Tower Burger. Haven't had any other sort of burger in years...

There used to be a BK burger called a Mega King or something like that which was a staple part of my Uni diet...

Burger King used to do a Swiss cheese and mushroom burger which was delicious, although not as nice as the hand made one I had in some bar in Bellevue once.

I won't go there anymore, the one near me is staffed by cunts. I'm overreacting of course, but they wouldn't let me swap the potato wedges on my breakfast for something else. I mean, what breakfast place doesn't let you chop and change a bit? And it was a shit breakfast anyway. Who has frigging potato wedges on a breakfast.

I always wonder what these more up market burger chains are like. Me and the gf went to ED's Diner in London and the burger there was a disgrace. The way they word the menu it suggests that the buger is home made but it's obviously a cheap frozen buger. In fact it tastes identical to the buger you get in Witherspoon but you have to pay around 6 quid and don't get fries or a beef with it.

Anybody try love burger, burger republic or similar chains?

    GBK has always a favourite.

Nowadays, I must say that a roast pork, crackling and apple sauce sandwich has replaced the burger for me.

    /makes another

There's a place opened up in Bristol called "the Burger Joint" and I'd say their burgers are leagues ahead of GBK. I've only had one mind.

That's not overreacting at all, I hate them too now.

In fact I might burn them all.

I lurk. If I've spoken to you, I'm either impassioned, or drunk.

Until the 27th, GBK are doing buy one, get one free - only unlike how these normally work, you get the most expensive burger for free instead of the cheapest one.

    Not bad at all!

I wish Burger King would bring back the Big King. Best burger bar none.

I used to eat 4 of the normal ones, or 2 XL's, and that'd fill me up for the day. Lovely stuff. :)
