May 16th at an investors meeting PC and next gen will be confirmed for this year.
Remember though, rumour.

I think PC is inevitable, but I can't see them doing a next gen version for at least 3 reasons:
1) No install base
2) Too much would be expected of it. We wouldn't settle on a mere graphical upgrade like PC owners would. We'd want all new everything!
3) The budget to make #2 happen would send the overall budget skyrocketing.
1) games hitting old and new machines is not unheard of, in fact quite common. Besides this is a new PS and 360 we are talking about the base will be there and an improved version of GTA will drive some adoption.
2) You'd be surprised and if they are announced in May it gives people time to choose which machine they'll get it on anyway.
3) Given they both supposedly have similar architechure, PS4 and 720 ports of the PC version would be quite cheap and as with PC the marketing is paid for anyway with the 360/PS3 versions.
Personally I'd be very surprised if it didn't hit new machines as well especially since it's now hitting the consoles just a couple of months before PS4 hits US and Japan.

Trevor is quite clearly going to be the stand out character in this. I can see the other two being a bit bland as we have seen similar characters in previous GTA games, but we've yet to play as a bat-shit insane druggy, and that sounds great to me.
Is the PC version of IV anything other than a graphical upgrade? I was thinking that's all V would be. Whereas, if they put it on next gen they'd want to do all new animations, physics, etc., along with adding features.
Which is what I feel would push the budget too high. If they're just going to do a graphical upgrade in line with what they'll do for PC, then I could believe it.
Graphics, sound and framerates are the improvements (of course mods to but that's not applicable to next gen consoles). To be honest even as just a graphical update people even today still drop their jaw when I show them their beloved GTA4 on a PC.
I guess we'll see (it is only a rumour) but I would be surprised if they didn't, people are gonna jump ship at the end of the year and Rockstar will have DLC to sell next year so it makes sense to catch as many as possible.

Thinking about it from an alt. POV, I might be convinced: Regardless of Rockstar's interests, it's in MS and Sony's interests to get this on next gen. I wouldn't be shocked if we hear later that a few mil. changed hands to make it happen.

No torn frames this time round please.
@ronuds A next gen version exclusive to 1 console could be a big plus for either MS or Sony.
I doubt Rockstar would go exclusive on one of the new consoles. Supposedly they won't even repeat timed exclusive DLC again. God knows why I bet they loved that 50 mill

How many people would actually wait for a next-gen version should one be announced? I think I would try but it would be hard to ignore it for a couple of months. I'm not convinced it will happen yet anyway though.
@bad09 Well that was just a lone I'm not a fan of timed exclusive so its good to hear they don't want to do that again.
But then is Agent still PS only?
Is Agent still being made?
Last i heard was at E3 last yeah on gametrailers. Jack Tretton was asked about it and he actually looked sad when he said you will have to ask R*. He couldn't even say if it was still exclusive to the PS.
Who says anyone would wait. People double dip all the time, hell even though I'm waiting it out this time round I've bought last gen GTAs 3 times (PS2, Xbox, PC) and 4 twice (360, PC).
I imagine Rockstar (if they are doing next gen versions) are counting on a lot of double dipping!
I think Agent is possibly still happening. According to Wiki
"With the announcement of the PlayStation 4 on 20 February 2013, there was an expectation that Agent may have moved to become an exclusive PlayStation 4 title. However, there was no mention of the game at the launch, but developer Rockstar had signed up to support the PlayStation 4. When asked if Agent was still a PlayStation 3 title after the press conference of the PlayStation 4 reveal during a roundtable media session, Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida said "You are asking the wrong person. I have some knowledge, but I'm not in a position to talk about it."
They must have made a weird deal if the decision is up to R*. Unless there was no deal and R* was just doing it out of the goodness of their hearts.
@bad09 Well that's true, but I'm assuming that if they were to announce next gen versions in a couple weeks then the gap between PS3 and PS4 release wouldn't be more than a few months apart. I wouldn't imagine a lot fo people would buy a game on release with the full intention of buying it for full price again just a few months down the line.
I think they'd be better off not announcing next gen versions until early next year if they want people to double dip. They'd probably get me that way anyway!
well the rumour is this year so you are right there. Of course they could announce and say a release around March/April (probably when we'd see a PC version if Rockstar follow their 6 month rule).
All specualtion for now, we'll probably find they say sod all come May 16th
Yeah, true. And either way, I am looking forward to it!

Trevor looks like the best character. Some nice looking vehicles in those trailers. Hope we can drive the tractor that would be fun in multiplayer

Triple Trailer Analysis, eh?
This is what is going to be most unbearable about the wait for the game for me - people going on and on and on about it.
Especially when he's got so many of the car names wrong - Michael's car isn't a convertible Sentinel, it's a Feltzer - nor is there a 'convertible Cheetah' in Franklin's video, it's a Banshee.
Oh man, it's totally a convertible Sentinel. Who is the amateur now, eh?

I think that the 3 trailers and the characters they are portraying, are very similar to the 3 previous games.
Franklin is CJ - San Andreas with all the refrences
Trevor is Niko - GTA IV - the crazy out there guy
Michael is Tommy Vercetti - Vice City
I think it is quite a clever way of bringing all of the things that people loved from all the previous games into one.. then there is something for everyone who has a favourtie in the franchise so far...

I dunno, I think Niko is pretty mild compared to Trevor's brand of crazy.

Michael actually still sounds like Ray Liotta (hence all the earlier rumours about Vercetti) in the new trailer, very disconcerting
Yeah Niko is pretty far from Trevor.
I posted that before i started watching but yes they made a fair few mistakes.
Hell it completely misses out Trevor hitting a Lost member with a bat.

Just watched the trailers and enjoyed them (as far as GTA cut-scenes go, anyway). This has probably already mentioned but, Michael is based on/played by Michael Madsen right? Because he's the spitting image. Also sure I spotted Jonah Hill in there at one point.
