To be honest I thought the next couple of weeks look pretty good.

Worried about my Xbox though - think its on the way out.

Might have to buy a new console - I would be able to redownload all my XBLA games right?

    @Alipan

Yes you would. Prior to that, you should also transfer the licenses to your new console, so that you will not have to be online in order to enjoy the full (as in not trial) versions of your XBLA purchases.

Edit: check out this link for instructions.

Yep, there is a license transfer tool online that will switch to your new console when you move it.

Profiles seem to work much better now that you don't have to recover them to a new device when you want to switchb as well. My profile is basically a cloud profile now as all my saves are in the cloud and I can play on my xbox in the living room or spare room without hassle. So I have a lot of my arcade games on both, not sure if I need to be "online" on both to play them but haven't had any issues switching back and forth.
  • Deleted user 2 October 2012 15:28:10
    Great - thanks both.

My profile keeps corrupting, console keeps freezing and some XBLA games refuse to start.
Im expecting to administer the last rites soon.

Shame - was hoping it would see me through till next-gen.

So is Hell yeah! available or not? I can find it under H but only with an option to rate it. Not to buy or download.

Cheers Derbs. Interestingly those trial game and full game downloads weren't showing for me at all yesterday, even via Xbox.com.

Is there anywhere that lists XBLA titles based on price?

I fancy picking something up (maybe something less obvious) but won't pay more than 800 and really would rather look at anything lower than 800.

Just bought Virtua Fighter 5 for 600 though (despite going off the genre).

Talking of which, I wish they'd get more titles at the 400-600 points range. That's impulse buy territory. There are a bunch of titles at 1200 that I can only see myself buying if they get a discount.

Anyone stumped up for the full version of Hell Yeah?

Tried the demo last night and it seems pretty cool, like a modern-day SNES platformer almost. With violence and mild swears and self-awareness. The screens make it look very 'busy' but it's actually super-sharp and very easy to follow when you're actually playing.

Unfortunately the trial cuts out right before the first boss battle, which I would have liked to have had a go at (because I generally loathe boss battles). Still, I think I'll probably pick this up at some point (although probably not until it hits half-price, given that I've got an action-packed 'to play' list at the minute and also because they gave it to Playstation Plus subscribers for nothing).

There's also a 'recently reduced' tab somewhere on the dash that's worth keeping an eye on - often get some of the older xbla titles on 400-600msp there. Recently 800msp releases worth considering are:

    Fez
    Jet Set Radio
    NiGHTS

Yup, playing it on my lunch breaks to pass the time. It's ok. The humour hits the right notes with me but it is very repetative. Can't comment on length just yet but I'm having a good time with it.

Looks like this week's deals are half price on all of the following:

    The Splatters (again)
Toy Soldiers: Cold War + DLC
    Toy Soldiers + DLC
    A World of Keflings
    Renegade Ops

Dunno about the Scratch n' Match consolation prizes yet. Has anyone actually won anything on that yet?

Edit: Double Fine sale also starting today, no details yet.

I did Scatch N Match for a week then thought, fuck this, deleted. If I really want something I'll just buy it full price or a normal sale.

I can't remember if this makes it 600 points, or it was one of the games that got a permanent reduction to 800 making the sale 400, but either way I still can't recommend Renegade Ops heartily enough.

Ordinarily I'd offer to play a bit of co-op with anyone who picks it up, and I suppose I still could, but this is XCOM week, and I know I'm going to just be playing that for most of my game time.

It's madness, because it does appear to be finished now. They've sent copies out for review and such.

    Pinched from CheapAssGamer:

S&S+ Scratch & Win loser deals:
    Quarrel: 200 MSP (1/2 off)
    Swarm: 200 MSP (1/2 off)
Mercury HG: 200 MSP (1/2 off)

Chain Reaction Deals, all Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13:
    Deal 1: 5 Course Pack, 800 MSP (1/2 off)
Deal 2: Emerald Dragon, 160 MSP (240 MSP off)
Deal 3: Blue Monster at Doral, 120 MSP (280 MSP off)
Deal 4: Wolf Creek, 80 MSP (320 MSP off)

Quarrel is great! If you're at all into word games it's a total no-brainer at 200 points.

Quarrel is truly brilliant, and a bargain at that price!

Not sure if I can recommend Splatters even at the reduced price. Not sure why but I just can't seem to click with it.

    Any opinions on Swarm???
