@mrpron - Did you eat all the cheese off first then?

Wow, just found out that in the land before time (well, the land before dinosaurs at least) there was a half metre long spider descendant called Megarachne Servinei. Looks a bit weird but hey ho:

If God said “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you,” to Mary - does that mean he loves bukkake?

There's a spider out on my porch at the moment. It did build a good sized web across the corner between the external porch wall on the brick banister (?) of the steps leading down, but it seems that after a week someone got rid of that. So now it's made a slightly smaller web across the top of the porch (which to me doesn't look as good a place to catch insects, but there you go)

I give him a little wave every time I leave the house or come back. Cheeky little scamp!

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

I wonder how pissed off they get if you break their web.

Close up pictures of Britain's spiders

There could be up to 100 of picture 2 in your house. Pleasant dreams!

I have one of those nasty bitey false widow spiders in a ceiling corner of my extension. It's the type of spider that made a woman's hand nearly fall off a few weeks ago when it bit her and she had a really bad reaction to it.

Can't find that story but here's the blurb
    False Widow Spider

    And a similar story:
    Ouch

I get a massive, really colourful sort in my garden that isn't in that set of images from the BBC. I'm guessing that's not really all the spiders we get.

Same here. I can move them with glass/paper and recognise the value of them but can't stand them really. Have got beyond my childhood phobia (caused by my mum), no determined not to put the same fear onto my kids!

This is quite something, a spider that makes a fake copy of itself as a decoy.

    Link me do

Heard a crazy loud buzzing the other night so I went over to the window to let whatever it was out.

Turns out it was the death throes of a rather large fly that was in the process of being eaten by a slightly smaller spider.

I turned to the mrs and said 'now *thats* why spiders are worth having around the house!' and she ran off screaming.

@OptimusPube Blatantly fake. The guy who allegedly found it is a web designer, for Christ's sake
