Absolute peach of a shot as well. Senchenko looked strong going into the last round as well.

Crowd still love him to their credit.

    What next?

Will he be a stepping stone for the likes of Brook or perhaps Khan?

Sadly I dont think he will retire.

Hatton should retire for good. This can't end well if he decides to carry on.

    Pretty shit night, really disappointed.

People were saying he'd fight some bum that he'd smash, so fair play for him to fight someone that could(and did) beat him.

Just hope he's fine after this and doesn't spiral again.

I get the feeling he'd happily give up his millions immediately just to be able to rewind time back to a decade ago.

Don't forget this interview he had the other day:

    http://www1.skysports.com/boxing/news/20876/8273378/Ricky-Hatton-will-quit-boxing-for-good-if-he-loses-against-Vyacheslav-Senchenko

"I'll quit if I lose. I've suffered depression and it is something I will have until the day I die," he told The Sun.

"But Ricky Hatton now, I feel so much more relaxed - comfortable with myself.

"There's a spring in my step, I'm happy at home. You could say that I feel as if I have won already no matter what happens in the fight.

"Of course I don't want to lose to Senchenko, I want to win another world title.

"But if the worse happens, so be it. I know I can get up on Sunday morning and look at myself in the mirror and say 'It didn't come off, you haven't got it anymore, so go and be the best promoter and trainer you can be'.

"I think I can do that, but three years ago? No chance. Ricky Hatton today? Yes."

Fair play if he can shake this loss out of his system tomorrow morning but in the post fight interview he looked distraught, was in tears and kept repeating 'I'm not a quitter'.

Watching the end of the fight last night made for some uncomfortable viewing. Ricky didn't even come close to recapturing the fighter he once was. For me the Mayweather Pacman loses were far easier to take.

The pundits from the show I was watching were supremely harsh on him after the fight. Not sure what channel they were from because I was watching on frontrow but could have been sky box office. Regardless they were talking about him 'getting help' and just heaping pity on him. It was painful to watch horrid blokes.

It was obvious from that interview that he was retired despite what was coming out of his mouth. He'll shag his beautiful wife and go back to his promotion business.

    No serious harm done.

What I don't quite get is why he didn't have a couple of lower profile 'easier' matches against lower quality opponents to get the rid of the rustiness?

This fight was albout him trying to redeem himself after the last few years getting fat and fucked on booze/drugs, wandering around Manchester crying post Pacquiao.

Beating some journeyman wouldn't have been enough. Unfortunately he picked a guy who was in his prime. Now I suspect he is going to fall apart, he just had too much invested in this mentally.

It is a shame but all the vultures that surround this sport have spurred on this "comeback" abd have milked him for one last big PPV. Now they have the cash they will all disappear leaving him alone and feeling ike shit.

I really hope he goes on to be in a good place but I suspect there will be a few grim tabloid headlines in his future.

It's sort of ridiculous that Flintoff is embarking on a boxing career for the sake of a TV show. There's no way anyone can think they would be able to start a career in any sport at the age of 34.
