@elstoof Khan has been negotiating for that fight for ages -- interested to see if it reignites the UK's waning enthusiasm for boxing.

I doubt it will when you'll have to sign up to boxnation or ppv to watch it, but at least it might last a few rounds. Can't see a Khan upset on the cards but Mayweather always puts on a good show before finishing things off.

I like Khan but he has too aggressive a style and leaves himself far too open to have any chance of lasting more than a couple of rounds with Mayweather.

Agree with that. If he had a chin, he might have been able to make that approach work, but sadly not now.

Yeah Mayweathers power is underrated too. Once Kahn eats a few clean counters he'll be doing the Prescott dance again.

Mayweather Khan would be the most notable thrashing since Lord Hembley of Nottingham beat Rajagopal Garwesh his 8 year old houseboy and punkhawallah with a reed from the Ganges upon finding out the boy had misplaced the table setting at the inaugural meeting of the moustache waxing society of Bhagalpur.

Not a bad card on Sky at the minute. First fight was pretty great and the Gavin Rees fight on at the minute is turning into a decent fight.

Groves vs Froch rematch in May

Hopefully they'll be no controversial stoppages this time. I reckon Groves has Froch's number, assuming that he's learned from his mistakes from last time.

It's tough to call, I think Froch has a higher gear, we just never see it. He might actually not pull his punches this time, and he's a decent brawler. Groves is the better talent IMO but I'm not sure how much the loss took out of him emotionally.

I expect a good fight though, I might even be tempted to pay to watch it.

I think Froch will win it, he's going to be a lot more cautious now and fight a little more intelligently after seeing what Groves is capable of.

I wish to be proved wrong though, as I can't stand Froch and Groves was brilliant in the first fight.

Hope Groves victory tbh. Watched the 'my special day' with Froch and even being filmed donating his own time to spend with a cancer sufferer, he managed to come across as a classless egomaniac; special talent indeed.

I fucking hate Froch, but I think he'll win the rematch.

Khan fight is off. Mayweather's chosen Maidana as his next opponent.

The easier option really, but neither are going to cause him any great problems.

Yep, I don't see him losing either bout. Shame for Khan -- he hasn't fought in almost a year waiting for Mayweather.

All thanks to a twitter poll.

Great fighter, but an absolute prick of a man.

Well, a shame Khan didn't get that fight but he should now try to get a fight with Shawn Porter, and if he wins that, his first mandatory defense will be against Kell Brook, setting up a good all British clash.

Ha, no way? That's how he chose his next fight?

Not really, he put a poll on twitter to ask whether he should fight Khan or Maidana. Khan won the poll and he still picked Maidana

    Phew. I think.

Whatever happened to the relevant body being responsible for determining the next challenger?!

Doesn't work like that anymore. Boxing is losing so much popularity that the governing bodies now rely on promoters and fighters to arrange their own events to pull in money. Nobody is going to stand in the way of Mayweather bringing in $60-$100 million dollars per show. It's probably why the IBF sided with George Groves in forcing Froch to fight him again; the money generated from that will eclipse any mandatory fight they had planned for Carl.

All a bit sad really. I know it's their own fault though, some of the mandatory challengers over the years have been a joke. This doesn't feel like a good alternative though.

You think that Froch-Groves 2 is the most hotly anticipated rematch of the year?
    Think again.

Its just shows how bad a state heavyweight boxing is in, that the winner of those two mooks is going to get a shot at Klitschko
