When Nintendo Money-hatted Resident Evil it didn't take Capcom long to realise they'd just backed the wrong horse and produce a stream of low budget spin offs and ports for the PS2 to pull in some revenue.

I don't know what's stopping them from making some sort of alternate Fatal Frame title elsewhere. Unless Nintendo were so pissed off with the Capcom situation their agreements are even more ironclad these days.

Has anyone tried the Fatal Frame 4 Patch - I've downloaded it, bought a jap copy of the game, but haven't got round to trying it yet.

    Any feedback?

    Is that legit?

I bloody hope so. I still have the Jap version of it, but didn't patch it in time before nintendo patched the Wii, and now apparently, I have to get hbc to do it. But to do that, I need either lego indiana jones or smash bros to even get hbc up and running :-/. I'm up for installing the patch (well, I was), but I'm not up for potentially bricking my wii.

It's ridiculous, I would happily pay 50 for this game and the twat's won't release it

Don't worry about bricking your Wii when installing channels, that happened in the early days but everyone knows how to do it now (touch wood).

    It's dead easy, there's a new exploit for 4.3...

You just need to fish the MAC address out of the Internet settings.

The front page confirms that the port/re-release of Project Zero 2 is due for release on the 29th of June.

Overall it's a pretty horrible situation, yes there are a few Wii owners who never buy non-Nintendo consoles so they haven't played Zero 2. For everybody else it's the same game again on a system that can't offer much in the way of technical enhancement with motion controls tacked on.

However did we end up in a situation where the new game never gets localised whilst Zero 2 gets released again? The answer as always, Nintendo. Whenever they get their hooks into a franchise it generally ends badly for fans of that franchise.

Smug bunch of fucking cunts is what they are. And it's all Reggis fault.

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

So, my Japanese copy of this arrived today. Would probably help if I had a Wii... Anyone willing to lend me theirs for a couple of weeks? ;-)

Got a Wii. Installing the homebrew channel and the patch is so easy it's not even funny. Not played much, but the game looks splendid. Although "looks" is maybe not the right word. ;-) I only have the crappy composite cable so far, still waiting for the component one.

Not a fan of the Wii itself so far, though, I must say.

    @quadfather

I believe I used this thing.

Although in retrospect I don't think I needed to, as I'm on Wii Menu 3.4 and I don't use the hbc at all for the game.

On the latest one (4.3 I think), if you can access the store, unless you played around with IOS versions.

In any case, it's installable on all versions of the menu. http://www.fatalframe4.net/ has all the info you need.

Nice one. I've already got the patch downloaded on my pc, ready to be put on a SD card - it's just the hbc that I never got round to doing

Anyway, what's the game like? Good/scary as the first 3?

To be frank I didn't play very much yet - maybe a couple of hours. But it seems very good, on par with the previous games. The story seems unrelated to the one before, at least so far, but it's proper disturbing FF stuff. I'm very happy I got it, despite the stupid cost just to play one game. Although I got Trauma Center Second Opinion for pennies last week, too, so my Wii is no longer a one-game console. \o/
