Then the AI would have stated that the sarcasm core is fully functional, or something to that effect. It was checking the overall functionality of GLaDOS itself. And, well, it was more of a joke than anything else. As for the hate core - I'm pretty sure GLaDOS would just kill you outright when you wake her up, if that thing was still there.
