Buy a second hand Dreamcast. There are loads of quality games (Ikaruga, Rez etc) available, which themselves are retro by todays standards. However, it will also run lots of emulators (Mega Drive, Master System, SNES, NES and many more) which can be downloaded from the net and burned to CD within minutes. ROMS are easy to come by as well.
Get a good SCART or composite lead and it will look pretty decent on an LCD screen too.
