Zelda: Link's Awakening - Facade boss strategy

How to defeat the boss of the sixth dungeon.

Facade is the boss of the sixth dungeon of Zelda: Link's Awakening, the Face Shrine.

It's fairly straightforward - but as with every boss, that's provided you know the exact weapon to use in order to damage it.

If you're looking for more assistance, our Zelda: Link's Awakening walkthrough can help.

Facade boss strategy

Facade has two phases. One is where it'll throw everything at you - floor tiles and the corner pots - until the room is clear.

The simple way to deal with this is to stand against the wall with your shield facing the room, keeping you from harm. Don't worry about attacking at this point - just prioritise defending yourself.

The second part is Facade moving around the room, and spawning holes in the ground around it, then moving again. Here you can start attacking, and it's as simple as laying a bomb on its face and running away.

Do this as soon as it appears - we found laying rather than throwing was better - and repeat until it's defeated.

With that done, you receive another full Heart Container, and the Coral Triangle.

Next up is finding the Bird Key location so we can access Link's Awakening's seventh dungeon, Eagle's Tower.

Our Zelda: Link's Awakening walkthrough and guide can help you with the critical path, including the Eagle's Tower and Turtle Rock dungeons. There's plenty to be done on the side, too - including Zelda Link's Awakening Heart Pieces, Zelda Secret Seashells and the Zelda Link's Awakening trading sequence. Finally, there's also the new Zelda Chamber Dungeons feature to unlock and complete.
