Wii JRPG Xenoblade confirmed for Europe

Now known as Xenoblade Chronicles.

Who says the Wii is dead?

Not Nintendo Europe, anyway.

It's just launched a UK teaser site for Wii-exclusive role-playing game Xenoblade, confirming a European launch.

In Europe the game is known as Xenoblade Chronicles.

Xenoblade was made by Monoloth Soft, the team behind the XenoSaga series.

It has a Final Fantasy XII-style action battle system, but layered on top is manual character movement. It's set in a universe where two worlds called Bionis and Mechonis fight an endless war. You join the battle for Bionis to "repel the invasion of a terrifying mechanical army and uncover the secrets of a mystical sword called the Monado".

Xenoblade Chronicles features full English voice localisation, but also includes the original Japanese voice work with English subtitles.

It's set for release later this year.
