System checks have been initiated, the hype machine has been refueled and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is clear for launch.
With Infinite Warfare - almost certainly the most sci-fi Call of Duty game yet seen - arriving so imminently, you may be wondering just how bombastic it truly is. We have a whole heap of gameplay to share with you based on a recent hands-on, so we can say with some authority - it's pretty darned bombastic. If you don't believe me, please enjoy ten minutes of gameplay in which you start out sniping in an asteroid field, then go on to steal an experimental space fighter.
Of course, one of the great benefits of fully embracing sci-fi is that it allows you access to a rich vein of cultural material from which to draw - or, as is the case in our next video, to reference. Keep your eyes peeled in this next bit of campaign gameplay and you'll spot some strong references to Alien and Pitch Black.
Finally, of course, what would Infinite Warfare be without zombies? The wave based mode has had some interesting new tweaks for its next iteration, including an ATM system whereby you can bank cash and keep it safe in the event of your untimely death. It also happens to be very, very 80s.
And there you have it, a whole bunch of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare gameplay. It'll be interesting to see how this one fares on launch, seeing how divided the Call of Duty community seems over the futuristic space angle. Your politely articulated thoughts on the matter are, of course, welcome in the comments below.
