V-Rally returns later this year

V exciting stuff.

V-Rally, the much-loved arcade racer from the original PlayStation era, is making a return later this year thanks to BigBen Interactive and developer Kylotonn Games.

It'll boast some 50 models of car and a variety of different events including straight-up rally, gymkhana, rallycross, hillclimbs and buggy events. Kylotonn has some heritage with the series, too, with game director Alain Jarniou having worked on V-Rally 3 on the PlayStation 2.

"It's a real privilege for me to once again work on the V-Rally series," Jarniou said in the official statement. "It's an extraordinary title that I have a very special connection to. I had a chance to join the team that created V-Rally to develop V-Rally 3 on the PlayStation 2 as a programmer. I'm very proud to be working on the franchise again 15 years later."

V-Rally 4 is due on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Switch at an undisclosed date in 2018. As for Kylotonn itself, you might not be overly familiar with the developer but it's been pumping out racing games at quite a rate in recent years, delivering a decent take on the WRC licence and, most recently, offering the exhilarating TT Isle of Man.
