Unchained Blades coming to PSP next week in North America

Turn-based dungeon crawler also coming to 3DS later this year

Dungeon-crawling RPG Unchained Blades is coming to North America on 26th June for PSP, publisher Xseed has announced.

One of the last releases for Sony's aging handheld, Unchained Blades will be sold exclusively as a digital download on PSN for $29.99. A 3DS version will follow later this year.

Developed by FuRyu, Unchained Blades is a first-person RPG featuring turn-based combat. Players will control a group of four characters who can recruit up to four monsters each to fight alongside them. Xseed promises over 60 hours of gameplay.

The story concerns a dragon emperor named Fang on a quest to regain his true form after being stripped of his power.

Unchained Blades is directed by Toshio Akashi of the cult-favourite Lunar series and the story is written by the long-running Grandia series scribe Takashi Hino.

Xseed is unable to determine if the game will be compatible with Vita. "It's up to SCEA when they confirm a PSP title is Vita-compatible and post it to the store for purchase," the publisher tweeted.

A European release has not been announced, but we've pressed for comment and will update as we hear more.
