Total War: Three Kingdoms has a 12th playable faction after all

Zhuo'll never believe it.

There's a 12th playable faction in Total War: Three Kingdoms after all - and surprise, it's villain Dong Zhuo.

Zhuo is the main antagonist of the campaign and is generally regarded as a bad guy in history, too. He liked holding banquets while torturing enemies, then plonking their cooked remains on the dinner table as entertainment. Lovely!

You'll get to play as him once you beat his army in battle, or hit the level of Emperor in the Three Kingdoms campaign.

Our lovely Chris Tapsell asked game director Janos Gaspar and senior designer Simon Mann if Zhuo was playable while going hands-on with Total War: Three Kingdoms last month. Amusingly, the pair were evasive on the matter.

Was he going to be playable? "We haven't discussed it yet?" Gaspar said at the time. "Yeah, watch this space," Mann added.
