The Witcher Tabletop Roleplaying Game will be released really soon

Emhyr month away.

Did you know there was a Witcher Tabletop Roleplaying Game in development, one you will play with pen and paper? It has a release date and it's not far away! The game will debut at tabletop paradise Gen Con on 2nd August, then will be sold via developer R. Talsorian Games' website and DriveThruRPG soon after.

R. Talsorian Games is Mike Pondsmith and family - Mike Pondsmith the creator of the Cyberpunk tabletop RPG, the game CD Projekt Red is adapting into Cyberpunk 2077. And Mike Pondsmith is a very involved consultant on the new video game - it's a life and story I wrote about last year after meeting him.

A preview of one of the pages from The Witcher Tabletop Roleplaying Game.

Pondsmith has been working with CD Projekt Red since 2012, and somewhere down the line was asked whether he, a tabletop pro, knew anyone who could make a Witcher tabletop game. Mike Pondsmith did: his son, Cody.

But Cody had to win the work, so for the next several months he - already an obsessive Witcher fan - steeped himself in the world and lore and put together a pitch for CD Projekt Red. It worked and he got the gig. He even went on to hire his mum Lisa to do some writing for the game - what a family!

The Witcher Tabletop Roleplaying Game should provide all the materials you need to run games set in the world of The Witcher, covering everything from character creation to combat, magic, monsters, world lore and more. There'll be a sample adventure included to get you going. Loads more detail on what to expect can be found on R. Talsorian's website.
