The Last of Us Part 2 - The Confrontation: How to win the encounter

How to complete The Confrontation chapter.

The Confrontation follows on from The Last of Us Part 2's The Escape chapter.

This chapter sees Abby and Lev reach the Theatre where Ellie and others are stationed - bringing the two timelines together.

There are are no missable items here - so just focus on the story and the encounter that follows.

How to enter the Theatre in The Confrontation

Unsurprisingly, the front door is locked, so head right round the corner and down the side of the building, where you can help Lev up to drop it down for you.

Climb in through the window so the projector room is ahead of you.

Go in and investigate the photos, then the map.

It's worth hanging around to listen to the radio for some story info before moving on.

When ready, head downstairs and to the lobby for a cutscene.

You now need to chase Ellie. Head down behind the curtain, then through the back, for a fight scene against Ellie.

How to win the Ellie boss fight in The Confrontation

Ellie will be holding a pistol, meaning you cannot face her head on - or surprise her from the side. Instead, you need to sneak behind her and strike.

From the off, it's worth going to the far end of the room to get some distance and lose her. There are also some health packs dotted around you can consume.

Listen in to her locations, and work around the room until she's unaware of you, and you're close enough to sneak up and attack.

For the next part of the fight, you'll fall through the floor into the basement. Armed with a shotgun, you have fewer chances to mess up here, so retreat immediately.

The best plan here is to find a brick or bottle, and once again lose her then follow her around. Then, when it automatically locks on, throw it then follow up with a strike.

You need to do this a third time when she's armed with a bow. She's much faster here - so be patient and keep track of her.

There are plenty of bottles and bricks to choose from, as well as health packs in case you are injured.

Keep this up until the cutscene and the end of the chapter.

Next up is The Farm.
