If you can track down all of the hidden Artifacts in The Last of Us Part 1, you'll unlock the Chronicles trophy for your collection. They are probably the hardest set of collectibles to find, hidden away in every nook and cranny of the world.

They're also incredibly varied, with some being found on dead bodies, others pinned to walls, and others awarded on completion of certain chapters of The Last Of Us Part 1.

Boston Q.Z Map

Found in Joel's backpack. Just open it using the touch bar, and scroll along to the Notes section. You'll need to interact with it before closing the menu.

Military Pamphlet

Found in Joel's backpack.

Note to Brother

After the first infected encounter, head upstairs. Before exiting the building, head through the door on your left.

Drafting Notice

Underneath a table after passing though the bus.

Wanted Poster

A poster on the wall, just after Drafting Notice.

Warehouse Key

Take the key from the guard you kill during the stealth-kill tutorial.

Shipping Manifest

After Joel takes cover at the wharf, head right and take it from the railing.

Dock Notes

Attached to a skip, next to the suspended boat before Robert's office.

Patrol Routes Map

Next to a boiler after you get off the lift.

Evacuation Leaflet

Beneath a traffic light, to the right of where you climbed the highway in the rain.

Field Ops Log

Next to the second dead soldier on the stairs in the Goldstone Building.

Firefly Map

After getting your first Molotov, climb the nearby stairs. It's on the corpse. From dead Firefly.

Note to Derek

During the Clicker subway section, head left from where you start, and look in the cash register of the convenience shop (safe combination).

Medical Pamphlet

Look inside the truck you climb over using a desk.

Firefly Orders

After heading downstairs in the Capitol Building, look around to find this on a corpse. After the cutscene upon leaving the museum you go down some stairs. There’s a body here you can check.

Smuggler Note

Opposite the ladder in the flooded subway section is a ledge by Ellie you can crawl onto. Take it from the corpse.

Bill's Town artifacts locations in The Last Of Us Part 1

Pills Note

After leaving the woods, there’s a Clicker in a shed. Building ahead has two floors. Upper floor office has the note.

Note to Bob

On the barbed wire by the barricade on the main road. (Safe combination: 5-17-21) .

Perimeter Note

To the rear of the record shop.

Note to Rachel

On the second floor of the next building. Cross rooftops after climbing ladder. After dropping down, duck under the tripwire and head left. You will see a white door with something pounding on the other side. Open it and head upstairs. Kill the runner, and grab the note on the table under the writing that says ‘Rachel.’

Fences Note

To the rear of Bill's safehouse. There’s a door near the one you came in through. Next to a dart board.

Hunter's Note

On the second floor of the safehouse. To the right as you exit the stairs.

Bill's Map

On a table in the same safehouse.

Bombs Note

In a small room inside the church. Bill’s room to the right of the altar.

Boy's Diary

On the second floor of a house with a swimming pool. You’ll drop down from a treehouse and see a pool. Can’t miss it.

Note From Frank

On a table in one of the houses. After the Bloater fight, you’ll climb outside. Get over the ladder and into the house. Cutscene will trigger, then you can loot the house.

Go inside the garage over the road when the ambush is over.

Ambush Map

Just above the garage where the ambush was. You’ll head upstairs on the main path. It's on the wall.

Lost Hill Note

Inside the checkpoint booth, beneath the counter.

Traitor's Flyer

Right outside the bookshop.

Applicant Checklist

Beneath the stairs in the bookshop.

Abandon Zone Note

Towards the rear of the bookshop's first floor.

Lost Areas Map

On the other side of the Shiv Door on the bookshop's second floor.

On the other side of the Shiv Door near the hotel.

Stash Note

Inside the cafe and up on the second floor.

Note To Staff

In the hotel lobby, across from the main staircase.

Above the room where the generator is. You will need this to progress the story.

Fireflies Note

Inside the freezer of the Financial District sandwich shop.

Final Attack Note

Look behind a desk after the attack on the Financial District.

Mob Attack Note

Behind another desk, up on the second floor of a nearby building.

Truck Note

Inside the Rations Depot building, on a table.

Trial Note

On the floor of the conference room. Henry will lead you here as part of the story. Just look for a meeting room with a big table.

Here are all of the artifact locations in The Suburbs of The Last Of Us Part 1:

Boat Note

Inside the cabin of the boat you see early on.

Sewer Note

Inside the locked section Ellie crawls into. Just after you enter the sewer and split off from Sam and Henry.

Trading Note

Inside the room where the pair of Clickers lurk. You'll be able to enter this room just after switching on the generator, after swimming under the large door.

Rain Catcher Note

On a desk in the room with the rain barrels. To the right after you are rushed by runners and clickers.

Cornered Note

On the ground by a corpse behind the door to your right after killing the clickers and runners. It’s a kind of playroom.

Kid's Drawing

On a bookshelf, just after you get separated from Ellie and Henry. There’s a classroom, the note is next to a small red car toy.

Looting Note

On the second floor of the first house after the sewers.

Father's Note

Located in the second house after the sewers. It’s the one with the attic, and the workbench in the garage. Next to the ice cream truck.

Survivor's Note

On a desk in the third lootable house.

Matchbook

In the attic room of the house with the safe in it. Third lootable house.

Powerplant Map

Look for a bulldozer on the main path. There’s a small building past it, next to a sign that reads “Jackson County Hydro Dam Reservoir.” The map is inside.

Sniper Nest Log

On the second floor of the building with a garage, flamethrower and workbench. Keep working your way up until you find a sniper’s nest.

Wall Panel Note

Inside the building containing the generator you activate. Right next to the switchboard.

UEC Campus Map

On a table in the dorms. Enter via a door to the right of the locked gate.

Student's Journal

On the second floor of the dorms. There’s a dorm room door you can open here. Found in the desk.

Newspaper Clipping

As you come upstairs after the bloater encounter, enter the dorm room to your right.

Office Recorder

Up on the Science Building's second floor. Follow the yellow and red wires, then head up the stairwell. In room 301 (biology lab).

Fungal X-Rays

Keep moving until you go through a tent made of greenish plastic sheets. The xrays are in the next lab.

Lab Recorder

On the table in the room where you startled the monkeys.

Story Note

Granted automatically after finishing this chapter.

Lakeside Resort artifacts locations in The Last Of Us Part 1

The Lakeside Resort Artifacts are slightly different in that the majority of them can be found in Joel and Ellie's backpacks. Just open and inspect each item to make prgress towards the Trophy. Other than that, there's a meat ledger next to Ellie's backpack when playing as Joel, and a Shiv door that you should open.

• Meat Ledger - Right by Ellie's Backpack.
• No Pun Intended - Received automatically when you play as Ellie.
• No Pun Intended Vol. 2 - Received automatically when you play as Ellie.
• To Get To The Other Side - Received automatically when you play as Ellie.
• Riley's Pendant - Received automatically when you play as Ellie.
• Sam's Robot - Received automatically when you play as Ellie.
• Walkman - Received automatically when you play as Ellie.
• Note From Mom - Received automatically when you play as Ellie.
• Switchblade - Received automatically when you play as Ellie.
• Joel And Sarah Photo - Received automatically when you play as Ellie.

For the Shiv Door, do the following, while playing as Joel: Head over the road from the petrol station, you’ll find a motel. Search it until you come to a hotel room with a missing door. Climb through the broken bathroom window and the door you're looking for is to your left.

Family Picture

Look on the camper van at the start of this zone.

Note To Wife

Enter the bus depot, walk down the stairs and stay left. You’ll find suitcases piled into the corner. The note is in one of them.
