Tenacious D to rock BlizzCon 2010

Get a Virtual Ticket for a pony.

Blizzard has hired Jack Black's band Tenacious D to end BlizzCon 2010 with a bang.

Last year, Ozzy Osbourne screamed proceedings to a close.

BlizzCon takes place in Anaheim, California on 22nd and 23rd October. Tickets are sold out.

However, you can still watch the event by purchasing a BlizzCon Virtual Ticket for £25 (a "pony"). This offers around 50 hours of filmed content across four internet channels. Included are panel discussions, tournaments, game announcements, interviews and that closing ceremony with Tenacious D.

You'll even be given a "Deathy" World of Warcraft pet and in-game items for StarCraft II.

Tenacious D is made up of Jack Black (School of Rock, Eddie Riggs in Brütal Legend, and so on) and Kyle Glass. The pair have their own HBO telly series and have even made a film. They're not bad musicians, either.

The focus of BlizzCon 2010 this year will be the impending December release of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, as well as an update on Diablo III, which can't be too far off now please.

Diablo III will be a star attraction of BlizzCon 2010.
