Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP has sold over 1.5 million units

Experimental pixelated adventure Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP has sold over 1.5 million units since it launched on iPad in March 2011, developer Capybara has announced.

Since then, it has been ported to iPhone, PC, Mac, Linux, and Android. As explained in the infographic below, the biggest chunk of downloads emanated from the Humble Bundle, which accounted for 34 per cent of sales. Right behind it was iOS with 33 per cent, following by 21 per cent on Android Humble bundles 4 & 5, while Steam sales accounted for seven per cent, Google Play at five per cent, and downloads from the Mac App Store or the official site amounted to a mere one per cent.

Profit-wise, iOS made up the lion's share of the revenue with 55 per cent, while Steam came in at a distant second with 19 per cent. Regionally, a whopping 49 per cent of iOS sales emannated from the US, with the runner up being the non-UK parts of Europe with only 17 per cent.

It's worth noting that this data was compiled a month ago on 30th June, and as such does not contain data from the Steam Summer Sale, composer Jim Guthrie's Humble Weekly Sale, or the App Store's five-year anniversary promotion where it was being given away for free.

"Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP is built to be loved, and I admire the hell out of it," wrote EG-contributor John Teti in his generally positive Sword & Sworcery review.
