Super Meat Boy developer announces mutant cat game Mew-Genics

"The strangest project I've ever worked on... and that's saying something."

The next project from Super Meat Boy developer Team Meat will be Mew-Genics, a game featuring mutated cats.

The Binding of Isaac mastermind Edmund McMillen, one half of Team Meat, announced the game's title in a new blog post.

But solid details of the game - such as a release date or launch platforms - remain illusive.

"Mew-Genics is by far the strangest project I've ever worked on... and that's saying something," McMillen wrote. "Tommy [Refenes] and I are very happy with how development has been going on it and decided that Mew-Genics will be the next official Team Meat game.

"We don't want to spoil too much here, but we can say the game will be randomly generated, strange and involve cats."

The duo have placed their in-progress PC and iOS Super Meat Boy title "on hold" while work on Mew-Genics is completed.
